Disappointing but understandable from his point of view, the MLS is a strange career move though as I thought he would end up at one of the top leagues in Europe.

Disappointed as he always seemed to care.
Weird career move for a young lad.
    Oh well.

I think Dennis will go, but I do wonder whether that gives us an opportunity to keep Sarr. Get Sarr back on track then we should have a very good chance of bouncing back

£10m genuinely ain't bad for him, and not just in a 'well I guess nobody any good wanted him' kind of way

Sarr only has 2 years left on his deal and I doubt he'll sign another one. If we don't sell this window he'll probably leave on a free while putting his feet up in the mean time.

Well I didn't see a $10m move to an MLS in Cucho's immediate future that's for sure. Poor advisor again.

Just a word of caution about the fee. The reports say 10 million dollars (or slightly above) not pounds. In sterling that’s currently £8.1 million.

I think there’s a different report saying 12 million dollars, which would be closer to the £10 million.

Career wise, yes a very poor move.

However, I move I can understand.

    - Tripling his wages to £60k p/w
    - Will literally be one the top 3 players in the MLS, so sponsorship deals etc will come flooding his way.
    - Will start every game and be their star player.
    - A World Cup year where he wants to be noticed.
    - Clearly knows some of the staff.
    - He will be a fan favourite from the off.
    - Columbus is a beautiful city and there are so many amazing places in America that he will be able to go as a “Superstar.”

As much as I understand the ‘if he doesn’t want to be here, best to get rid…’ angle, how many players do we have to let off the hook in that regard over the years?

It’s another sign of poor characters the club sign - part of a squad that gets relegated but are totally unprepared to make amends the year after.

I do think the club need to stand up to some of these players and simply say no. I understand money talks - but it the mooted fee is correct, this feels like it was an offer we could have said no to.

Like many have already stated, our outgoing strikers will be replaced with freebies and journeymen, showing that Scott & Gino are indeed as full of it as we all know no matter how much smoke screening crap he spouts to the Wobby

I’d suggest the problem is more about signing players from the other side of the world, loaning them out to all and sundry before eventually deciding its time they played for us and then expecting them to have loyalty or to feel a close tie to us.

    £8, $8m, £8m, £10m, $10m????

Who cares?!?! We aren't going to see that money, it's not going in my bank account and the club won't spend it to replace him so why is everyone up in arms about the reported fee(s)???

Shame to see him go, purely from a likability point of view and he's the sort of character/personality we should've been looking to build the squad around. Clearly has had enough and who can blame him?

He was OK, but not great. I think the wonder goals (some of the very few highlights from last year) our clouding peoples judgements. Apart from the for-mentioned goals I don't remember him doing much that was productive. Running nowhere and passes falling short come to mind.

Good luck to the lad going forward, but the fact he is going to the MLS rather then a top tier league in Europe about sums where he is right now.

I would be upset if JP goes as I think he is a far better player

  19. Malteser2

Once Sarr and Dennis go too, JP will be the only player left who managed to score 3 or more goals for us last season.

If as expected Sissoko leaves too, JP will then be our only surviving player who scored more than once in the league last season.

(Fletcher got two but both in the cup)

Too expensive, unless he is on a free. I can’t wait for the announcement that to mark the 10 year anniversary of the Pozzo era they will spend a penny on transfer fees in the championship for the first time

Getting rid of Capoue in January had a much bigger positive influence than keeping him for the first half of the season did. Him going was a significant positive in the season.

Shame to lose Cucho. He always seemed to give a ***** and was one of the very few likeable players we have.

Dreadful career move for him as well, I thought he could have got a better move.
