Nope but just means they have been told there's an equally exciting alternative target lined up. Doesn't mean they know who it is.

Also doesn't mean they will necessarily be successful in landing that target either. Might be Peryer or whatever his name is.

 

You can if your source says "But if we don't get him, there is an equally exciting alternative, but wd can't tell you who at the moment".

yeah but they didn't tell him that. Last season WDSport were rolling out exclusive after exclusive, they were a great source of information. The moment we were linked to a player they would come out and say "no truth to it" or "yes we are interested or in for him." This season their stories have not been exclusives, they use words like perhaps, maybe or potentially, and they are no longer putting their necks on the line like they once did. All this to say when they knew something last season, they made sure everyone heard. This season, their stories are from squawka, the daily mail or other newspapers, and some Twitter accounts. Majority of the news they are producing is not new.

So going back to my original point, you can't claim something to be exciting unless you know who. If you have been told, then say that. They could have easily said, but we have been told there is an equally exciting alternative.
