If it comes down to us vs Southampton, I'd back the Pozzo's to convince him on 'our project'.

 

Is that the one where we sign an injured/unfit player and sell him 12 months later?

Neat and tidyness levels are at an all time low, now jurado AND suarez have gone

 

I would love to see this happen. I think it's the formation that fits our players the best (if Boufal does sign) and should lead to some nice football.

 

I have have to admit I have been a little bit worried about this season but seeing this line up gives me a lot of confidence. As neagtive as I can be when we loose or concede a lead looking at this line up really does make one realise how far we have come along.

 

Would be attractive play but would we score enough? Neither Boufal or Pereyra have been consistent scorers and that formation means no Ighalo or Success let alone Sinclair who moved to us for more game time. I'd also prefer Doucoure to Behrami.

 

I think Boufal has scored 14.goals in 43 appearances in the league for Lille?

That's a very decent rate from midfield.

 

I'd hope Boufal / Pereyra would be able to get goals in this formation as they'd have a lot of freedom to get forward and past Deeney. Easy to switch to two up front also, depending on the game - although I agree I'm not sure how Success fits in (can he play behind the striker too?).
Would just seem a shame to leave one of Pereyra/Boufal on the bench /out of position if they are as good as they're supposed to be judging by the classic YouTube videos.
I've not seen enough of Doucoure but I think a Behrami-type is needed, Doucoure I'd see more as a sub /back up for Capoue.

 

Is it just me, or is everyone struggling not to think of Boufal as Sophie-Anne?

 

I'd rather have Ighalo up front. Deeney doesn't convince me as an out and out striker.

 

Looks good. At least we have a few options playing the lone striker.

really? Compared to a team which has consistently improved, season on season? Nah. i'd join Saints in a heartbeat.

 

Like it, Deeney would literally be like a wall that Pereyra and Boufal could bounce passes off.

I guess they went back with a better offer after being told we had offered more. Supposedly they bid £12mil and we had bid £15mil or something like that.

Gino will pull out of the race now as he doesn't do bidding wars, especially at £20mil+

Why pay 20m on a player that's not fit and his knee might not recover fully I would rather we get the Brazil wonder kid from Chelsea.

 

Southampton's manager used to be in charge of Lille, so he must know Boufal well from their time together. Admittedly it's not looking good for us, but we already have our first choice in Pereyra so perhaps it would be a little silly to splash out another €20m on an injured player who may not even be first choice for us.

I think we'll move back in for Kenedy.

I guess those 'final negotiations' that WD Sport were clickbaiting earlier failed.

 

WD said that the deal was agreed with Lille, so no bidding war needed. Purely down to the player now then......

 

Unless we've signed an agreement I suppose Lille could change their mind if they've now had a much better offer. Whether they would is debatable though.

 

WD have had a good go at covering their own backs with this one. Watford still interested but Boufal may go to Southampton if they have indeed had a bid accepted.

Southampton have a pretty good track record with their signings, if they're willing to pay £20 million it sounds like we may have almost signed a very good player.

 

Would be funny if he chooses us over them. I doubt it though.

 

Correct, probably still has a few friends & contacts at the clubs though.
