I thought WDSport claimed to know the alternative, (There is an equally exciting alternative target lined up to play in the more advanced midfield role of a 3-5-2 system.) sounds like they lied again according to their live blog

Increasing noises coming out of Italy that are Watford are in for Mario Lemina. We know Mazzarri had an alternative in mind for Sofian Boufal and perhaps the Juventus midfielder is that man. However, Lemina, 22, is more defensive minded than Boufal and Watford already appear well stocked with those.

One minute they claim to know who the alternative is, the next minute it's perhaps it might be...

WDSport do not know crap anymore. All fluff and no substance.

From what I recall, duxbury had told them there was an equally exciting alternative, they didn't use it as "a source said"......

It has always been said that if a player becomes available that Gino believes improves on what we have then they will try and get him no matter what we already have.
As pointed out out Lemina is head and shoulders above what we have.

 

No doubt - but with Capoue Doucourre Behrami Watson and Suarez - is he what we need to spend our precious transfer kitty on? - not one of them can open up a defence with a "through the eye of a needle pass" or use clever feet to create space for others - that is where our need is

Gino has screwed up. We have actually bought Simon Burnton for €20m. Apparently he's prepared to have a stab at the DM role.

That statement is the moment. You can't claim there is an equally exciting alternative to Boufal unless you know who it is. So making that statement is them saying, we are in for Boufal, however if we don't sign him don't worry because we know who the alternative is and he is just as exciting.
