I can certainly understand if he has zero desire to play in the Championship again after his last two seasons.

His rumoured fee definitely seems a bit too low though.

I have no issue with allowing players who don't want to be here to leave.

However, unless and until someone is willing to pony up a proper offer for him, his desire to play for a more attractive club is irrelevant.

True, but you missed out that the second one is Homegrown and no one would pay a fee for him.

CG contradicted himself the same day in the Cucho statement. What concerns me is if Edwards really thinks Cucho and Zinc wouldn't of been main players in his system. I believe they would of been perfect.

Yeah I wasnt sure if I had all the right status for each player. If those 3 are homegrown too then the rule of 11 really wouldnt have effected us much at all that season

The other thing to consider is the Woy effect. He was determined to stick to a system that wasnt working and seemingly carried on picking our supposed better players up front just so he could moan about/blame them to the WO afterwards. Thats not to say that Kalu would have made a difference, but we had been woeful creating chances and I always thought Kalu was to help in that area?

 

True but I'd imagine he'd try and stick to a tried and tested one he had at FGR.

 

The training session vid on the club's official Youtube channel definitely seems to corroborate he'll be playing 3 at the back and 2 CFs again with us this season.

And that many of the players who got us promoted were still ones who got us relegated anyway?

It's also now two clubs that have gotten promoted with him yet still don't seem to want him for the PL.

 

Would be surprised if he ever plays at a top level now. Scouts/clubs in decent leagues are obviously seeing something they don't like if they aren't taking a punt on him, when he's seemingly available for such a low price

Whilst it’s 20 mins on the metro into the centre of Athens, Olympiakos is based in Piraeus - and that place is one of the biggest dumps I’ve ever been to.

Knowing such a fashionable, good looking guy is in that place breaks my heart.

 

It was me, yes. But I think French at the Wobby is a better source and he’s since said an initial payment of €2m up front with potential add ons down the line.

 

Andrew French has better sources than AL and he confirmed the €2m fee (with add-ons). I doubt those add-ons will take it past €4m at most personally (which is still cheap IMO.)
