Again, no one has said it worked before so it's a guarantee it'll work again, and no one has said every player that did a good job in the Championship will definitely do a good job 2 years on.

 

I do agree with some of that but the league looks weaker to me this season to be honest.

Hughes is also a massive loss in that regard. A genuine premier league quality holding midfielder replaced by Kaymbe, Gosling and Cleverley.

I mean, you're well aware that I know that no one has actually said that they 100% guarantee it, and that my replies on the subject have been tongue in cheek and sarcastic, but thanks for letting me know anyway.

The important thing is that the likes of Cleverley, Cathcart and Gosling are all old and sh1t, and I look forward to having a good laugh at all the idiots who thought they'd "do a job" in this year, just as those same idiots thought they would last season, when they stink the place up for yet another painful campaign.

 

It can only really be stronger compared to when we were last down there, as none of the clubs had any gate receipts that year, which make up the vast majority of a championship clubs income. The TV deal is only worth £5m per club in the championship whereas the average match day revenue will be something like £10m, so two thirds of their revenue wiped out. We on the other hand with PP only lost about 5% when you factor player sales as well. There one or two less big clubs but the league as a whole will be better prepared than when they were all on their knees financially.

No one said anything about guaranteeing it as an absolute certainty, you're the one adding that in for no apparent reason.

In reply to the general comments made about such players and the overall state of our squad, obviously, and more specifically in reply to someone responding to you harking on back to historical reference points for your reasoning in the present, as per. In this case you talking about how we got away without a goal scoring striker last time in the Championship.

Also, what exactly have I "misinterpreted" about people's opinions? People have directly said that they think some of the ageing, declining dross we have is still good enough and can do a job, and that's what I take issue with and disagree with. That's the discussion, and there's nothing being "misinterpreted" in that whatsoever.

As for Cleverley, the vast majority (maybe 100%) of posts are concerned that his legs have gone, and say he shouldn't be playing, which I agree with. So I think that may be another imaginary person you're angry with.

 

No, it's not wrong, it just means absolutely nothing now under a completely different set of circumstances two years on and is completely irrelevant in relation to the coming season.

We might get away with it again, we might not, but the fact we did before means nothing for whether we will again or not this time.

I didn't side step it. I've already responded to it. You trying to now add further context to it a day later makes no difference whatsoever. I replied to it as I saw it at the time.
