Could you transfer your Tennis coaching into Football? I mean, both involve a "ball" I guess. But remember, some of our players seem sulky and self-interested.

Get Nuno in until the end of the season. He’s probably still got a lease on nearby accommodation post Spurs.

He’ll either do a grim, utilitarian job and keep us up, or we can have the fun of letting him go.

I honestly dont think theres anyone we could appoint that could make things worse, but I'm sure we'll give it a go.

That would be my choice, but what’s in it for him? He’s sitting on a nice payout from Spurs that he’d need to at least partially give up if he came to us. If I was him I’d much prefer sitting at home watching the Portuguese version of bargain hunt.

Do the Portuguese have a TV programme that exclusively covers Watford's transfer dealings then?

Was 33/1 when the odds went up an hour or so ago. He's now 9/2, so there's some money going in on him.

We'll probably give him a five year deal.

It wouldn’t be a bad choice as far as our best bet of staying up, but the man would be absolutely mental at his age to put himself through it, in fact acceptance of the role should automatically confirm he’s gone senile.

Woy did turn Palarse from relegation threatened side to a mid table established team. Yes it took time, but that is one thing we never give our coaches. Look at Burnley. Love them or loathe them - whatever Dyche is doing it's working an continues to work season after season. I would more happy if we floated between 15th and 10th each season in the PL - with the occasional flurry into the top eight. Generally, I assumed we had accomplished that when we finished 11th. It all came crashing down the following season.

Whoever we get has to be a firefighter, has to have an immediate impact and knows the Premier League. For me, the only choice is Steve Bruce. He ticks all the boxes.

To be honest, we may as well give it to Harry the Hornet as the odds are that we'll be sacking whoever takes over around April/May, anyway. We can then give it to whoever is deemed with having a real shot of taking us straight back up from the Championship.

If we're considering the likes of Fat Sam and Roy Hodgson, then why not also chuck Rafa Benitez in the mix? It would at least be hilarious if we somehow survived with him at the helm ahead of Everton and Newcastle.

Although he was never suited to Everton with his Liverpool connections and their desire for Europe, he does seem to relish a relegation dogfight.
