Never thought I’d come across Trespass allusions on here, well played.
Still determined to find out who half-inched my near mint copy of From Genesis To Revelation. An itch I’ll never get to scratch, probably.

Claude Puel. That’ll be 3 ex Leicester managers in 2 years. Should mean Brenda is due back in June.

I haven't read all comments on here but here is my 2ps worth on what I think needs to happen.

Pozo and Duxbury's record of hiring managers has been incredibly poor since Javi left ..... and to be fair I think they got lucky with him ...... I urge them to take a different approach, because if we keep doing the wrong thing we will keep getting the same results and that is foolish at best. We have to change our ways and we have to change today.

Lets identify and appoint a young, credible upcoming, hungry manager not an old has been,.... Lampard, D.Martinez - someone employed by another club even - But for gods sake look long term not just a fixer

Give them a blank sheet of paper to work from... tell them that they have time to assess the squad and say we want you to be ruthless, tell us who you want to keep and what players you want brought in, what control, what staff etc.

Tell them the one objective they do have is to change the culture and mentality of the squad ...... Yes we want to be staying in the prem and if not an immediate promotion back .... but concede it will take time and that the goal is to be a premier league team for the 2023/2024 season

Tell them that our hiring and firing culture has ended right now, as it doesnt work and tell them we are looking to build a club and a culture over the next 2-3 seasons. Rome wasn't built in a day ..... which given we have Italian owners you would think they would know better than I ....... I know this could be fool hardy, but, guarantee the new manager 2 full seasons in charge - regardless, come hell or high water..... back him and back our decision on who we appoint - give them assurances we will back the strategy and the process and stick to them - We have to take a step back to take 2 forward.

Communicate with the fans - tell us the plan so we can understand it and get behind it. we have to change now and with this next appointment. We need to Galvanise everyone, owners, staf, players and most importantly the 12th man ... us the fans

I type in hope rather than expectation sadly.... but If Pozzo and Dux read this and can't change ... the nI urge you to leave and pass the stewardship of the club onto someone else as the current approach fails time and time again

Don't get the fascination with Lampard, he underperformed with Derby and struck gold at Chelsea with a group of youngsters akin to the Class of 92.

Completely agree, except I'd say he struck bronze at Chelsea (at most).

He's fresh on the merry go round, but he's definitely got a comfy seat on it now.

Probably my favourite Genesis album...I saw them perform a lot of the songs from it in Nov 1970 at Watford Tech, just after they'd released the album and very soon after Phil Collins joined them but before Steve Hackett had. They were second on the bill. I then saw them 'headlining'at the Kingdom Hall (!) in May 1971 when they were gigging the first version of some of the songs that would appear on Nursery Cryme.
I thought they started 'going off' a little with Selling England...whilst Lamb Lies Down..was a bit over-indulgent. I never really listened to them much once Gabriel left.

We've had some absolutely cracking managers walk through our doors in the last 10 years, but we could have Klopp managing us, and it doesn't matter as we're such a collection of square pegs and round holes, with long-standing attitude problems to boot

Very much the same: the three albums from Trespass to Foxtrot are incredible, and I still play them frequently. Saw them in Watford in 72, think it might have been at the Palace. Gabriel wore the fox’s head.
Saw the very decent tribute band ‘Book of Genesis’ playing at Charterhouse fairly recently.

Martinez apparently flattered by the interest, which has been long-standing, but has reservations now that we're in the drop zone. Begs the question, why didn't we go for him when we went for Ranieri? I was never against the appointment of Ranieri, but I certainly wanted Martinez more...

Where have you seen he has reservations? From some of the chats I’ve had in the last day or so, that doesn’t seem the case.

The issue for Martinez won’t be relegation (although it probably is for Gino) - it will be whether he’s afforded the luxury of time to create something.

EDIT: I’ve found the report from the Evening Standard. I think they’ve embellished that last part personally.

They should have sacked him after West Ham, like I said. Wasted three extra games unnecessarily. The final outcome was blatantly obvious to me.

Probably too late now, but I’m pleased he’s gone. Nice guy and a gentleman but was never the right choice.

Let’s hope they get the next one right.

So we got Fulham Ranieri rather than Leicester Ranieri, which was always the most likely of the two.

Gino probably tying up someone currently leading a promotion charge in the Belarus second division as we speak.

    I honestly don't care.

The Pozzo shortlist will say one thing - clean sheets.

Which means no goals. Our defenders are ****ing embarrassing so no clean sheets either.

A snorefest on our push towards a worse total than Boothroyd's point tally.

We're going down, and we're going down in last place.

I think we got Fulham Ranieri rather than Sampdoria Ranieri which is what we were hoping for.

Martinez/Marsch please. Both are available and have a clear identity as well as decent records. The club would have to make some big concessions to make it happen, particularly for the latter, but surely it’d be worth it. Setien could be worth a shout too and we’ve been in for him before.

Nuno is a defensive coach, so he’d be as good a choice as any. The problem is even if we decided to pony up for him (which we won’t) there isn’t anything in it for him, as he’ll have to pay some/all of his severance back to spurs, so he won’t really be any better of financially even when we sack him.

what was the point of sacking CR70 , we will still go down, we will still lose most games and now the players that can’t be arsed or don’t have the skill have another excuse
