True. The culture within the club will only leave with Gino I'm afraid.

In what way are Greeks the opposite of Italians? They're both Mediterranean for one thing. Someone from somewhere like Finland would be more plausible.

This group of wasters don't even respect Ranieri, what makes you think Emmanuel Dennis is going to respect John Eustace?

He is Icelandic, and currently runs a fishing trawler out toward the Norwegian Sea - I think that’s close enough. Not sure if he has his coaching badges so may not be the Finished article.

Pozzos are serial re-appointers of head coaches, we've only seen it once with Quique but they've done it multiple times with Udinese. Seems they are quite good at the "no hard feelings, have another go and another pay off" approach.

They need someone in quickly, someone that can settle in the area and won't have work permit issues. They might even be thinking beyond the end of this season and looking for someone who could get us promoted out of the second tier if necessary. They've also said that they would never appoint someone that can't speak English again and only ever choose people that are out of work.

    Step forward Slavisa Jokanovic.

    A couple of thoughts:
We need someone who can build for next season and would be able to scrap for points against bigger sides in the PL and dominate lesser sides next season should we go down. It’s tricky but I’d like us to appoint someone who would be around next season regardless.

Luca Gotti looked decent at Udinese even though the results didn’t match the performances. Could do worse.

Knutsen at Bodo/Glimt would be a fun one and I think would be able to build a dominant side for the championship should we go down.

Nuno’s rep has taken a hit and his football is dull but he’s clearly capable of both.

Jorge Jesus is a good coach and available.

Diego Martinez seems a good option if we can convince him but I do worry that he wouldn’t be so suited to dominating the championship with a possession-based side.

  13. Diego Martinez got a tune out of Foulquier and Kenedy, both utter dross and barely got a game with us

On that basis he could be a success

He'd put the fear of god up our guys and hopefully scare them into fighting for our place in the PL.

    What about Rob Page?

An ex WFC captain and currently managing the Welsh National team? I know he's a bit left field but why not?

    A couple more ideas:
Javi Calleja - someone discussed on here previously. I don’t recall if he was linked or just suggested. Got sacked last month from Alaves but saved them last season with 16 points from their final 9 games after he came in with them bottom in April. Was very good at Villarreal before being moved on because they had agreed for Unai Emery to come in.

A few young managers who have had a fair amount of success in South America: Luis Zubeldia and Gabriel Heinze. Abel Ferreira also (though he isn’t available currently) who did well at Braga and Paok and just won back to back Libertadores with Palmeiras. All would be left-field choices but I feel they could be hires I could get behind.

Cant imagine he’d take it but Michael Beale, Stevie G’s assistant is very, very highly thought of.

I know Uncle Claudio's results so far have been pretty appalling especially Norwich & Brentford, but he has still not had anywhere near our best eleven to choose from and has also had some very tough opponents in the main.

Therefore maybe we could give him another game to see if the tide will finally turn? Having said that with the winter break upon us it is probably the ideal time to bring down the axe, as long as we have an IMMEDIATE replacement so that he has time to work with the players for a while.

I don't know Emmanuel Dennis but OK, if he's going to be driven solely by his ego and has a bad attitude then he is not going to listen to anybody whether it's John Eustace or anybody else. In which case, get rid of him, there's no 'i' in 'team'!

Really has to be one of the coaches who has masterminded our previous best results. Either Ole Gunnar Solksjaer or Rafa Benitez.

If we want someone to fight a tight battle and get the respect of players, then Nuno Espírito Santo is free and expensive.

Can’t say I like the guy or his football, but surely a better choice than Lamp Frankhard or someone who was last successful in the 20th Century?

Doubt many would complain if they went for Nuno. Imagine he'd probably want more control than Gino gives people. I reckon it would be very difficult for Gino to convince any high profile manager to join tbh

Also Sarr as u mentioned & Ben Foster who have had very little playing time under Ranieri. There are also some players currently out on loan such as Tom Dele Bashiro & Zinc who are playing very well at their loan teams that could give him more options.

Knutsen is very, very happy where he is and is readying his team for Europe as we speak, they have some massive games coming up. But he really does get a tune out of his players. So fun to watch. If he goes anywhere my heart says he will end up at Brann. He's a Bergenser and they're a very proud bunch, Brann need a totally rethink and this is the choice of the City.
Martinez I hoped for before we got Ranieri in. Got Granada playing so nice football.
    Nuno I could see.
