Agree - no respect. Its the minority of players - King and Joey Barton for example - tha give footballers a bad name.

Unfortunately, his sentence will most probably end around the perfect time for Mr. Boothroyd to sign him for Colchester ahead of next season's championship campaign.

Any bets on what he'll do before he's next arrested?

When the judge told him he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, marlon King dropped to his knees, screamed hystericaly and sobbed like a baby.

He never was very good at taking penalties.

I see in today's NOTW she has waved her right to anonymity to do an interview about the whole incident.

No doubt she has got a nice fat pay cheque out of it. Marlon is indeed a c*nt, but she has now done her self no favours by coming across as a greedy little tart.

  5. Evasive

    Evasive Requiescat in pace

That was certainly predictable. Judging by the amount of press coverage of the incident you can see why she has tried to milk it for all it is worth.

I disagree. She went for a night out with her friends and ended up with her nose broken by that animal. What woman, (or man), deserves that? It's not in the same sordid league as the girls who kiss and tell. She deserves some paypack for that broken nose and probably huge loss of confidence, and if it helps people to see what that thug is really like then good on her. I'll buy a copy today.

Indeed mate, I'm sure many others would have done the same.

However, sexual assault/rape is one of the most degrading and humiliating acts for a woman to have to endure, and this is why papers are forbidden from printing the name/picture of a victim, without her permission.

Her 'selling' her story is an insult to other women who have been sexually assaulted who remain unknown and want to get on with their lives.

What she doesnt realise is she will now receive a lot of unwanted attention, which has actually been brought on by herself.

I dnt deny she deserves paypack Admin, but isnt her payback the fact King has been sent to prison and is likely to have his career ended?

My biggest gripe in this country is how payback comes in the form of money. We now live in a society where people look for compensation for almost anything, simply because it puts a bit of dosh in the bank.

Lets say she has been paid £10,000 for that article (just a figure I have plucked from the air), that's a lot of money for a 20-year-old girl who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Al I'm saying is why did she have to break her Anonymity for a quick pay day? Payback comes in so many forms, yet so many will take the big carrot dangled in front of them.

Bang on mate. Hes a low life scum bag. What these footballers forget is they wre role models as well. I know what King is capable of. Some of the things he did when out on the town in Nottingham when he was at Forest led to him almost getting run out of town.

What I cannot believe is how Wanger was defending him ,while those with some sense of a moral compass such as Roy Hodgson were not and then his clearly shameless deluded agent.

I have mixed feelings on people who sell their stories. It highlights what a **** King is and sexual predator, but then again being paid for the story....

Smacks of sordid titillation but that's how my opinion of it is. She certainly deserves recompense but that should have been given to her by the judge (even though the sentence as is usual for criminals in this country far too lenient and if he had been sentenced properly from the start he might not ave been able to commit the subsequent offences) jailing the thug but also by ensuring the **** is ordered to pay her compensation for the injury inflicted and loss of self confidence.

She's not a tart though. She did not ask the ugly arrogant **** to touch her up . As Spud say's I've a few friends who support Nottingham and a branch of the family from there and they've said the same things and said when he joined us , that they doubted he'd turn over a new leaf.

Then again as The-Vic mentions we have the other group, who demand compensation at the drop of a hat, a sad reflection of the Americanization of Britain postwar, and the proliferation of ambulance chasers. Lawyers that do anything for free..... yeah right.

The saddest thing is that the **** will get out and unfortunately he will be snapped up by a football team and maintain his lifestyle while this poor girl will have those mental and physical scars for life.

And it's not just him. There are plenty of other footballers who have committed sexual indiscretions and gotten awyay with it or bought off 'victims' or used high powered lawyers to get them off.

Joey Barton, Jordan Robertson, Ross McCormick, Lee Hughes , Nathan Dyer. The range of their crimes ranges from murder (driving a car irresponsibly is akin to driving a dangerous weapon) to burglary but the point is all should be permanently excluded from the game.

And you still get these buffoons acting like idiots. Ross McCormack found guilty of drink driving recently.

Yes these crimes are committed by idiots amongst the general populace, but as footballers whether they like it or not, they are in the gaze of the public and should act more responsibly considering the lifestyles most have.

    Good post mate,

I sincerely hope my post did not come across as unsympathetic towards the girl, she did not deserve Mrlon's treatment and I for one feel very sad for her.

My point was she has run straight to the papers within days of the sentencing, which DOES show a type of greed, as a paper would not pay her as much once the dust has settled, say in a months time.

Tart was probably the wrong word to use, i'l hold my hands up to that one, but what she should have done was wait a bit, let the media attention die down and then tell her story. What she has actually done is struck while the iron is hot, and she would have been paid very handsomely for it too.

True...I know there is always a first but he will make claims that others in the past haven't been banned so why should he.

The is no defence for MK for what he did, also having a record as long as your arm, suggests that his recent lapse will not be his last. If he was an unknown person he would go down as just another statistic, however because he is " high " profile every move he makes will be reported, which hasn't unfortuately made any difference in the past.

Being a lover of football generally what really anoys me is that he has the capability to perform on a football pitch, score goals, win matches, be paid highly for doing so and be idolised by his teams fans.

Something that many millions of football fans would give everything to be able to do and to have done.

Playing for the local prison eleven will not give him the kudos and following which playing for a professional team does. Unfortuately he didn't learn his lesson.

In a few years time he will not be able to score goals and earn big money from football
    WHAT A WASTE!

    I'm clear about two things:
People who do stupid things like this should go to jail, no matte their station on the earnings scale.

    -also-

People who have served jail time should be allowed to continue their vocation once they've gotten out of jail, assuming their vocation wasn't material to the reason they committed a crime in the first place.

The woman has done an interview which you can watch,I think the NOTW have slightly gone overboard with some of her comments, and to me it didnt seem she was ragging and demanding King to be banned..make your own judgements on the 2min interview

Many are saying Marlon King has no place in a football club.

But we signed Moses Ashikodi, who had attacked a team mate with a knife and
is also cut from the same "wanna be in my gang" cloth as Mr King.

    Moses vs Marlon? Discuss.

    Any difference?

  24. Robodance

    Any difference? Hmm... Kinda.

An attack on an innocent female the like of which has been proven against King is more severe.

Despite the testosterone fuelled wind-ups on here on occasion, every forumer would agree that violence against women is utterly dispicable and has no place in our society.

Both crimes are wrong, but King's is (correctly) deemed more socially unacceptable.

You could also discuss Lee Hughes who is banging in goals at Notts County... While the pressure remains so great in football, managers & chairmen will continue to turn a blind eye and then plead innocence after the fact, hence Dave 'Wheelie' Wheelan's pathetic chirp of 'He was on loan at Hull'.

Is the question of sentence remission the same in UK as in Canada?

Here to get any time off of sentence the offender must admit guilt and take steps to deal with the issues (drugs, anger mgmt etc) through programs in prison.

But if they continue to deny the offence they serve the whole sentence.

In the UK, you need to admit guilt, say your sorry and buy a bunch of flowers for your victim before you can get released. Petrol station flowers are not acceptable.
