Definitely no more 3-5-2 managers please. Some variation of 4-2-3-1 Gomes Gibbs / Holebas - Prodl - New CB - Janmaat Doccoure New DM (tackler Kums maybe) Niang / New RW - Deeney / Pereyra - New LW / Berghuis New pacy striker
Marco Silva, Pro's nearly kept Hull in the division, talks reasonable English, has age on his side! Claudio Ranieri pro's talks slightly better English than contestant No 1, has won the league, doesn't have age on his side! This Slutski character. known nothing about him except he is a friend of Ambramovich Difficult decision glad I'm not making it!
Amazing to think there are 3 managers currently on the market who have all won the PL in the past 5 seasons.
Ranieri can turn around and walk right out the door he came in and he can take his diddly ding diddly dong with him
I would love that as well, although Howe is a Watford Fan would he leave the (job for life) situation he has at Bournemouth! would take a huge offer from us to get him I feel!
I thought he was an Everton fan. Still, even is he was a Watford fan, I wouldn't want the snotty nosed little ***** anyway.
I'd be happy with Howe, and having cut his teeth at a small club its about time he took the next step
He's not a Watford fan. He went to some games when he was younger but he's an Everton fan after he saw them beat us in '84 as a kid!
I just hope that, for once, we go out and hire a manager who is on the up, has a decent reputation and who is working for a club who really don't want him to leave. No more unknown Italians or out of work types. Next year will be our 3rd successive year in the PL and with that has to come the ability to attract who you want and pay their club off too.
Indeed. Although for the same reasons I suggested for us being able to throw our weight around to get who we want Bournemouth will no doubt feel they can resist on the same basis.
Silva would do it for me. Would probably bring Markovic, Ranoccia and Jakupovic, kept an awful Hull side from doing a Derby and would get us playing defensive but good counter attacking football. I don't think it's any coincidence we sacked Walt early, just a matter of days after Silva's relegation break clause was activated.
My choices: Roger Schmidt - Not a manager for the long-term, but would easily keep us up for the next 2 seasons. High-intensity attacking football. He did well with Leverkusen and Red Bull Salzburg and is a free agent right now. Think Wagner but has the bonus of having managed at the top level. Slutsky - I posted this in a football chat room I'm in a few months back. Managed at CL level, speaks good English, had good contacts and a good reputation. Desperately wants a job in England to prove himself and even said he's willing to work in the Championship to achieve that if necessary. I like that! Silva - Plenty of reasons for this. I don't like the idea of Ranieri here.
Silva seemed to get the best out of very limited options at Hull. Saw somebody mention Rodgers but not sure he would leave Celtic for us. I did think he was heading in the right direction with us but left under a cloud. Slav now Fulham are not going up but unlikely. Ranieri is obviously experienced and probably ticks the most boxes. I would like Silva out of that lot but who knows
There is absolutely NO WAY we would get Howe. He's been linked with far bigger clubs than Watford (such as Arsenal) and it would take a club like that to pry him away from Bournemouth, not a sideways move to Watford.
