I'd much rather Ikpeazu tbh. Guy looks like a monster, for someone his age he is absolutely ****ing huge.
Yeah that's also true. Would he be playing with Deeney in your eyes or instead of? Also someone else who could be decent is Kieran Agard from Rotherham United. Got nearly about the same amount of goals as Assombalonga in nearly the same number of games. Whilst he is 3 years older his contract expires this June and is cheaper....
I don't think he would have played much in my honest opinion. Deeney would certainly have still been the main man and Forestieri the usual man off him. He would have had some sub appearances and would have played in the League cup, but I highly doubt he'd have got regular games.
Although at the time I thought it was the right decision to sell him, I do hope we try to bring Assombalonga back in the summer especially if Peterborough fail to gain promotion and Deeney is sold.
For what it's worth, you know Peterborough fans don't really rate Britt that highly and would be quite happy to cash in. He's scored 20 league goals, a similar number to players who have failed at this level, and players we wouldn't dream of signing. This whole Britt love in is so typical Watford, it's easy to post when he scores a brace but not so when he misses a penalty for being over cocky and according to Peterborough fans 'thinking he's a lot better than he is'; we definitely made the right decision at the time and i'm fairly confident it will prove to be the correct one in the long term. If he'd stayed here, he'd of been so far down the pecking order its unimaginable, and to be honest i'd rather have Uche.
Fair point - a couple on a general forum say he is quite lazy and not that much of a team player - maybe that is why we were happy to let him go.
