If Sarr is available you have to start him for a home game like this! Get Masina off the bench too, get Kalu in there, Ngakia can play L or R if we need him to.

Good to see Kaba on the bench. Good team. Looking forward to the dub. Can’t wait to chant about cats. Orns.

Got to be hoping for 0-0 at HT, clevs and kucka off for JP and Sarr.

Bizzare & completely illogically. Which is totally unsurprising I suppose.

Another game where we’re just not going to score. As defensive as you can get again. Two attackers against 5 solid Brighton defenders. We’ll lose to something similar in midweek.

Disappointingly not surprised we are going defensive again .

    0/0 or Welbeck winner 1-0.

This is just going to be absolutely excruciating under Hodgson.

The inevitable relegation is going to compounded by watching the slowest, most negative football imaginable.

Best we can hope for is 0-0 at half-time then Sarr to come off the bench against tired legs to help nick a winner.

Ray Lew always picked his same team of favs, week in, week out, so it's hardly surprising and Roy doesn't like to make Subs until he really has to. So expect a tight 1-0, 0-1, 0-0, 1-1. God, I hope I'm wrong and it's vaguely exciting.

No Kalu at all and we have Sema, I think Roy came here simply to stop us from loosing games rather win games.

Problem is our subs probably won't be made until the 75th minute when chasing the game and Kucka/Cleverly having been knackered from the 60th!

    That is the main tactic.

Palace fans will say it was rely on Zaha and then the rest defend .

I was hoping for a more attacking lineup. I can understand going defensive at West Ham of all places, but we had a similar lineup at Burnley and were overall the better side. Our problem is we cannot score a goal for toffee at the moment. Going ultra defensive and allowing Brighton to press us further and further back is only going to end one way. I like Roy - he's a good guy, but surely he must know goals win games.

He missed the Chile games recently with Covid so maybe he's just not completely fit?

Don’t want to go all HB1 but for some reason I’m fairly positive. We defended pretty well away against a better team with the same formation, and Brighton completely overran us in midfield in the reverse fixture so we’d have our work cut out against them under Munoz or Ranieri anyway. Sarr to come on in the second half and set up the winner.

This is going to be the biggest waste of attacking talent I've seen and then we will lose most of it in the summer.

Where is Kalu? Are we absolutely sure we signed him? He's not a made up new player or anything?

Early retirement when they found out he's actually 42, which is what he looks in his pics.

He hasn't looked good enough and except for a deflected goal we've not conceded in the last two games. Why would you change that. We're not destroying his career, he basically didn't have one before coming here

Imagine the scenes when at 0-0 with 70 minutes gone we bring on Sema and not Pedro or Sarr.

Well, he established last season that he deserves some chances. If we had two brilliant centre backs, then fair enough, but Craig Bloody Cathcart is still starting for us.

I'm not saying that Sieralta is the answer, but we've established over several seasons that CC and Kabasele definitely are not.

Well, Sarr is there in his place - Kalu not being on the bench concerns me less than the fact that our starting line-up and bench are exactly the same bar Kalu being replaced by Sarr.

This is such a myth. He scored an unlucky own goal against Wolves - which wasn't really even his fault - and had a bad game coming back from a long injury lay off in the cup game against Leicester. Other than that he has been mostly solid in the few appearances he had.

Do you want to know who definitely hasn't been good enough? The other, dog ****, OAP centre backs who have started the vast majority of games and let us down over and over again as we concede a huge amount of goals and sit 19th in the league.

Deflected goals count just the same as any other goal.

    We’ve got super Roy Hodgson
He knows exactly what we need
    10 men at the back
    No men in attack
No chance of staying in the Premier League

It concerns me that in a crucial transfer window, when survival was on the line, we went out and signed a middle aged winger who can't even get into a matchday squad.

It's ghastly transfer business, once again. The ownership ignoring the needs of the team as focus on their player trading deals.
