Already one of the most miserable seasons I can remember in my 40 or so years as a supporter now sees Hodgson arrive to suck any small lingering feelings of joy from it.

We have so little quality in our squad, at least ffs play the quality we have. We need wins, we are home, be proactive and take the match to the opposition.

Shame on our coaches for their defensive and defeatist attitude. And shame too on those behind the scenes. For letting us go into a season so over reliant on the aged likes of Cleverley, Kucka, Cathcart etc. For recruiting so poorly that for a second successive year we’ve signed players on season-long loans only to find them not good enough and having to send them back. And for not fighting harder to keep the likes of Hughes, Chalobah, Zinckernagel etc, none of whom could have performed any worse than those they left behind.

I think I even enjoyed GT’s PL season more than this one. It’s just proving to be a joyless, miserable exercise in endurance, when it didn’t have to be so.

How damning that Xisco only lasted 7 matches but is still responsible for 50% of our wins this season.

 

Barely even reacted when the goals went in. It's so utterly predictable and boring at this point.

We're going down in 20th and probably as genuinely one of the worst Premier League sides of all time. Will be amazed if we get more than another 4 or 5 points.

Absolutely appalling all over the pitch. And off it.

 

Oh and Watford were absolutely atrocious. Relegation fodder.

 

Teams worked out fairly early on that we have pace in the team but that’s about it & the finesse of a wild donkey. Really poor team that will come bottom

 

Perhaps if we had played in our second gear, we might have played better

 

Nothing positive about that at all. Forfeit the remaining games they’re a waste of everyone’s time.

That dinosaur Hodgson can do one. Those shady charlatans Pozzbury can do one. 80% of this gutless squad of mercenaries can do one.

Only thing worse than losing today must be painting yourself into a such corner that you now have to come on here and act all positive lest you be called a massive hypocrite.

 

Thats it for me now, of course I hope we stay up but I think we have more chance of seeing Lord Lucan riding Shergar across The Vic.

We probably didnt deserve to be one down at the break but we definitely deserved to lose overall.

Dennis is frustrating to say the least, so much skill but not much of a football brain going on.

I enjoyed the Brightons fans of calling one of our players (Louza i think?) "A dirty northern b@stard" and was probably the highlight of the match for me.

We’re just crap. It doesn’t matter who the manager is or if we’re defensive or attacking, you just shuffle the problems around a little bit. We looked better for 5 minutes after making some more attacking subs and Brighton sat back on their lead a bit, but a couple of subs from Potter and we ended up looking worse than when we were defensive. Even if we go more attacking, our play in the final third is like watching a blind, drunk man trying to pick a lock with a sausage.

The squad just ain’t good enough, and we don’t have the ability to attract a manager that could work the miracle needed to make it good enough.

 

Said it last game and saying it again… we will finish bottom of this league

As for the longer term future, suspect we’ll now stagnate in the champ or even drop again - whole club is poison

Centre backs - absolute brick walls! Only lost their man a couple times

Kayambe - boyyyy what a signing he can pass backwards AND sideways sometimes actually completing them too!

Big cleverzzzz - this man can play every position what a character AND he looks fine every 10 games or so

Kucka - No words needed. This man wears a T-shirt.... IN WINTER. BEAST

King - I have no clue why this man hasn't got a call up for England yet I mean he occasionally wins a header!!!!

Why are we SO incapable of completing simple short passes? Why are players static? Why are first touches bouncing off feet in any old direction?

That Pedro cameo was horrendous.

Boils down to a lack of quality simple; there’s not a manager in the world that could save us so Scott Duxbury please stand up.

Blimey @NathWFC you’ve come over a bit optimistic haven’t you? 19 points? We’ve taken 2 from the last 36 lol. Dunno how you think we might get to the heady heights of 19!

 

I'm sure we'll fluke another win somewhere down the line and scrape another draw at some point. That'll be it though. Still plenty of further gutless, spineless, horrendous performances and losses to come.

It now seems, horror of horrors, that once the fraud of a 'decision-making executive team' had decided to make no investment in the defence and also allow Munoz to start the season as HC, the best thing they could have done is let him have the full season. We'd have still gone down in flames, but we might have actually attacked a bit & even pulled off the occasional freak win. After that today, I'm having flashbacks to Ray's final matches as our manager....equally bereft of ANYTHING worth feeling positive about. I can see no way we'll ever score again, let alone win a game.

 

Little to like about this team or club right now. I find I no longer care when we lose the which says it all.

The handful of players who are remotely likeable are not good enough, the rest will be on the first flight out of Heathrow when we go down.

The exception is Sarr whose professionalism last season single handedly prevented financial oblivion for the club. I wish him a great career at a good club, he can’t waste any more time with us.

 

Asked the younger lads behind me why all their aggro in the last 10 minutes was aimed at the players rather than Gino. Seemed to be a lightbulb moment.
