The sad and unfortunate thing for serious left wing politics is that it is blighted by an ageing population of crusties who are still stuck in the seventies, butt hurt by the fact that Thatcher ever existed, yet who embody the middle class dream of home ownership and capitalism (we have successful home owning executives and business owners amongst our most vociferous left wing exponents).

It seems the true children of Thatcher (she would consider my lifestyle to be that of a lefty weirdo, and those of her greatest critics on here to be a triumph of capitalist conservatism, I do not doubt) are refusing to grow up, and wish to rebel against their officious former mother figure.

Don’t doubt it for a moment, many on the modern left are the absolute pinnacle of what Thatcher considered her greatest achievements. Perhaps it is natural, in human nature, that they would resent her.

But it is still a shame for the true left to be hampered by lunatic extremists and a disgruntled middle class, who are so obsessed with ideologies and trends that they constantly miss the real issues. Worrying about minorities affected by this that and the other, and completely ignoring the class issue that encompasses all those things, even complaining when others try to focus back on it.

 

I got called a **** not so long ago, and someone tried to get me banned, for telling a poster on here that they said something that may appear racist to the casual reader.

I suspect we can both deal with our associated woes without too much effort.

 

And they wish they could have had a little pomp and circumstance like we had at the weekend too.

They were so excited about getting rid of their monarchy that they spent the next hundred years trying to reinvent it, before saddling themselves with the likes of Macron. Let that be a warning.

The video I saw seemed to involve City of London, not Met police? Were multiple arrests made of the same group?

If so f*ck ups from all involved. I’m pro monarchy, but obviously, much more importantly, pro the right for others to not be.

 

Met Pol had operational command and Westminster and surrounds is on their turf, so I imagine that's why they're in the firing line and having to publish the press statement etc.

One sentence covers it. The rest is pointless waffle when there is a ton of other news that they could better spend their time reporting on imho.

No one normal wishes Charles anything other than a full recovery.

But, the failure of the media to join the dots – or even mention – the difference between the health service available to the king and the health service available to the rest of us demonstrates just how wilfully, and in some cases willingly, misled the British public are.
