Yeah, I think the majority of those 15-30 appearances would have been in that season. Any potential buyer would be buying based on that season, plus a handful of positive performances against decent opposition (Liverpool, Villa etc) , and a few more against Bristol City, Congo etc
From Sky Sports: "Newcastle eyeing right winger | Diaby and Sarr considered Newcastle United are in the market for a right winger. Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby & Watford’s Ismaila Sarr are two players they are looking at. Diaby has a contract that runs until 2025 at Leverkusen. Sarr is entering the final two years of his Watford contract and Sky Sports News has been told the club would "consider sensible offers". https://www.skysports.com/football/...al-madrid-offers?postid=3992605#liveblog-body Diaby surely would be too expensive and too much of a stretch for Newcastle with Leverkusen having qualified for the Champion's League, so this seems promising.
Need this to go through, can't be starting next season with players training outside the main group, waiting for moves to materialise whilst we can't bring any replacements in.
Doesn't the window officially open on the 10th and I honestly believe there's going to be a massive amount of movement from Friday into the following week. Wouldn't even surprised if deals haven't already been agreed in principle.
If Kane Wilson signed for us on a free and his contract with Forest Green doesn't end until 30th June, would he be allowed to start pre-season with us on 20th June? That obviously goes for any potential frees we may be getting.
It's ok, I understand Gino's good pals with the Forest Green owner and so I'm sure he'd turn a blind eye.
True but not stopping other teams announcing signings where everything is tied up. I don't mean it has to be done already by the way, just that we need him and Dennis resolved early in the window to give us the best chance of planning.
With all the money they have, if Newcastle are actually looking at the possibility of adding Sarr to there team, I think they lack ambition and whoever is in charge of recruiting players for them has to be sacked. I mean, there are players who won't cost more than 40 or 50m that will improve there team like Richarlison, Dennis, Raphinha, Neto, Ziyech, Trossard, Chukwueze, Asensio Lozano, Berardi, R Leao, Zaniolo, Delofeu out there! Erm, where to begin... Richarlison - is most certainly not a RW Dennis - I guess, but isn't really as suited to the right as Sarr Raphinha - no chance, has been solidly linked with Barca and Pool Neto - perhaps, but only played 6 games last season, is a different style of player to Sarr and likely much more difficult to sign (contract until 2027 for one thing) Ziyech - not impossible I guess, though already 29 Trossard - not a RW Chukwueze - yes possible, though also hasn't had the best season and not convinced he's any better than Sarr Asensio - no chance Lozano - seems unlikely though maybe not impossible; almost 3 years older than Sarr Berardi - a move to AC Milan seems likely; almost 4 years older than Sarr R Leao - no chance. Also a LW Zaniolo - not been that good this season. Linked with Juve and AC Milan anyway which make more sense Deulofeu - don't think he's as effective on the right. Not sure he's the player he was when with us either. 4 years older than Sarr.
The point is, all of those players are better than Sarr and will offer more regardless on the right wing than Sarr! Sent from my AUM-L29 using Tapatalk
Your point was you were saying who Newcastle should sign for their right wing instead of Sarr. So I was pointing out that many you mentioned wouldn't be available, aren't RWs, or might not be any better than Sarr. You wished to criticise whoever is in charge of Newcastle's signings if they were genuinely contemplating signing Sarr for their RW, but spending 50mil on a player who isn't even suited to playing on the RW would be even more stupid than signing Sarr.
No, spending money on Sarr who isn't currently good enough to be starting regularly for us over the players I mentioned there (regardless of any excuse you give about them not being appropriate) who would walk straight into the starting lineup of Newcastle and improve them is stupidity. If Newcastle are genuinely interested in Sarr, it's a good news for us because I think they are the only team that can be be stupid enough to pay 20m for him, but on the other hand, if am a Newcastle fan, i'd be seriously worried! On current form probably ought not to but someone might pay for potential and the fact he has some ability . Certainly don’t think he is totally hopeless like some think but does need to play himself into games more even if there isn’t a lot of room for him to run or defenders are marking him well .
Watford are ****. That's the difference. Impossible to flourish when we keep changing managers every 10 games. We've killed the career of our best CB as well. Just an awful environment for a footballer.
He needs proper coaching that's it imo. If your greatest strength is speed go on and use it, not now and again but all the time. After Disco left I can honestly say that I can't recall him just knocking the ball past his marker and roasting them for speed.
He isn't though. Watch him for Senegal and he's a totally different player. We've been a car crash since he arrived, how many managers in his stay at Watford? 9 is it? It's just a great place for him to be and it's clearly knocked his confidence
Playing in a confident, attacking and successful team helps too no doubt. Here we've had 2 seasons of struggle and even the 3rd was for a lot of it really whilst he's had injuries and like everyone else probably been affected by the pandemic in term of seeing family and friends (unless you're Boris or Andre Gray) His time can be best summed up by the fact the club filmed him arriving in the driving rain and looking totally lost at the training ground unable to communicate with anyone!
True. He also tends to play better with better players around him. When we've had Dennis or Deulofeu on form on the opposite flank Sarr has tended to play better, it's probably the same with Senegal when there's Mane with him. Otherwise he often gets double-marked. Plus I'm not sure he thrives under the pressure of being the main man with the onus on him.
