Being linked in the Sunday Mirror as a ‘cheaper’ alternative to Sancho for Manchester United. Less surprisingly, being linked with Liverpool in the same article but says the Pozzo’s aren’t fans of Liverpool dues to past dealings with Udinese over Piotr Zielinski. https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/ismaila-sarr-liverpool-radar-interest-22379098
Add Liverpool to the list of clubs we won't deal with. Marseilles, Everton etc. When you don't get on with any of your neighbours, but they all get on together, it's not them that's the ****, it's you.
I'm pretty sure Utd will get Sancho, this just seems like negotiation talk to try and drive Sancho's price down. I'd be more concerned about Liverpool - though it's reassuring the Pozzos hate them and Liverpool also seem to be cheapskates this summer, they already turned down Werner because they wouldn't pay £50mil for him, and they won't get Sarr for less than that either.
Doubtful. Unless it’s changed in the past few days. His agent just came out last week that Sarr and he know they made the right decision in joining watford and are very happy etc.
I really can’t see us selling Sarr in the summer. Sarr was the club’s big gamble, and it’s paid off. Big clubs are interested. But he is still raw and not the finished article. For the gamble the club took and the money they paid for him, I don’t think they’d look at anything under £50m. He is their big asset, but you can only sell him once. I don’t think Liverpool would spend that on him at this moment in time, because he’s not a £50m player yet, but he will be. What’s more likely is he stays if we stay up, but we’ll loan him out if we go down. Either way I think we’d retain him until he reaches optimum value.
Maybe, but considering most players and agents don’t do that to get a move, highly unlikely. Nowadays agents come out with a come get me plea in black and white. Obviously we will sell him if someone offers us £50mil+ but, if, we stay in the Prem, then I think he will stay with us one more season. We do have the potential to be a surprise package next season. Only if the right decisions are made. First things first, stay in the Prem. Once that’s done, hire the right manager this time. A manager that will not have favourites and be willing to drop those underperforming, as well as integrating youth.
I’m not even close to convinced Gino sells him for £50m. It’s only a £10m profit and who knows what sell on/clauses Rennes have. I think we’d be looking for £65m give or take. The danger comes when the big boys make low ball offers and unsettle the player, who told SSN last week moving to Watford was an excellent ‘window’. He shares his agent with Mane and I doubt his agent would be discouraging a bid being made.
Don’t disagree on your valuation, I’m sure that’s what Gino would want, but he won’t get that. If a top 6 team comes in for him, they will start at £35mil just to unsettle and so the game begins. However I genuinely think Sarr and his agent are happy at watford and will give us next season to see what we can do. If we make the right decisions, and it’s a big if, then our squad next year could be very exciting to watch. I think that’s what will convince players like Sarr to stay. The next move Gino makes is crucial.
If we go down he'll be loaned out somewhere with an option to buy, if we stay up we'll have him another year before he leaves this hell-hole of a club.
Can you honestly see him staying? He's just stagnating and is do himself no favours if he stays. Obviously I want him to but just can't see it.
If we stay up I can’t see us selling in what’s likely to be a depressed transfer market this summer. We probably wouldn’t get back what we paid for him.
He will go to Liverpool or another decent club and we'll get back what we paid for him. And it'll be like it never happened.
He is definitely one that will be sold to try and balance the books. One of the few players we will get much from.
He will be sold. We paid £40mil for him. The issue is, has he proven that he is a £40mil player. Teams will lowball us for him to unsettle him. I would be surprised if we get back the £40mil we paid.
I don't know if he fancies sitting on the bench (probably would be up for it for the chance to play with his idol), but one thing Liverpool need is depth
No chance - Chelsea have just signed Ziyech for the right-wing spot and Spurs only signed Bergwijn in Jan.
Forgot Chelsea signed him. As for that lad at Spurs. He’s been a bit part player from when I’ve seen spurs. Mainly coming off the bench. Could be wrong though.
He's been rotating with Lucas Moura. Regardless, given that they already have one c.£30mil right-winger on the bench, they're not going to be adding another one so soon.
