Interesting development in the Unit 731 story.

The Economist: Atonement hard to see as a housing block is demolished to search for more victims of Unit 731.

at the end of the movie when i discovered it was a true story i realised just how much of a one off chinatown was. how could you not do better with such fascinating subject material? like the blind side, it was a movie people seem to enjoy because they like the story that inspired it while seemingly ignoring the grossly boring event unfolding infront of their eyes

Saw the film 'Blow' recently, based on the life of an American cocaine smuggler (George Jung). Hadn't heard of it before I watched it but well worth a watch imo.

Sat and watched Point Break on Sunday as it had been filling up my Sky+ for ages. Possibly the greatest Keanu Reeve surfing based movie he has done!

Just watched The Departed. What happened to the envelope Costigan left with the girl to open if anything happened to him?

    Lovely film.

Watched Paranormal Activity 2 last night. Having surround sound with a kick a55 bass made the whole thing 10 times more terrifying. I was uncomfortable throughout.

Saw Paul on Friday. It was okay, some funny moments but the story was a bit off with too many characters that didn't add anything to the story such as the Dad and the old woman. Not up with Shawn of the Dead or even Hot Fuzz to be honest.

Not expecting it too. Different director, not part of the blood and ice cream trilogy. The final installment is out next year...

Really under rated I thought. Probably the best film I have seen in the last 6 months.

Watched Looking For Eric again last night, I really like that film. If you've not watched it before DON'T READ THE NEXT BIT (instead, go buy/rent it and watch it).

What struck me once again was how unlikely a film it was to have a happy ending.

    The Dark Knight : 4/10

Several plot holes and the moral lessons within the characters is completely thrown out of the window in the film scene.

The King's Speech - Wasn't expecting to enjoy it, after all, who cares about some King, who's dead, who had a stutter? However, was more than pleasantly surprised. Mr. Darcy was brilliant, but out acted by Rush, who is superb. Mrs. Goth, weirdo woman was awful as usual, insisting on playing the Queen Mum as a quirky, odball, as she is wont to do with all her roles.

Overall a pleasant, little film. 7/10

Due date - really delivered the ridiculous, obvious laughs which hangover fans were expecting - 8/10

Splinter. Everything you want from a horror film. Dark, jumpy and lots of blood etc.

No, I genuinely thought it was poor. I never read the comic books so maybe that's why.

just finished watching 'into the wild' and have to say its one of the most beautiful films i've ever seen. the cinematography was just stunning and the fact that it's based on a true story makes it even more special. would truly recommend watching it.
