Watford FC doesn't have a soul. Just a history of mediocrity.

I think some people are scared that we'll lose our "identity." Well, the fans define the identity. If we all start booing our new manager, or moaning because we're not splashing the cash, or being knee jerk and angry about everything which happens, then I think that we will be the sort of fans we complain about at other clubs. It's down to us really.

Totally agree, anxiously waiting for the armchair fans to turn up now we've got a bit of cash and a big name manager.

Shame but not much we can do apart from support the new owners and Zola.

Afterall we'll still WFC fans no matter who is in charge on and off the pitch.

Spot on. Im as sorry as everyone else to see Dyche go but we have to be realistic about this and i cant help but feel that there's more than abit of an ott knee jerk reaction from some fans atm. Its been 'common knowledge' long before the take over was complete that the Pozzo's would more than likely bring in their own man, its just a shame that its Dyche who has to pay the penalty for that - someone who had not only shown the club great loyalty as both a player & a manger but who also seemed to generally want to try & build something here.

The Dyche sacking apart, i dont understand alot of the negativity being aimed at our new owners. The Pozzo's have a plan to take the club forward and for the first time we actually have owners that have the know how & the resources to implement that plan. For the first time since the itv digital collapse we will finally be stable off the pitch, we wont spend every season lurching from one near financial meltdown to another while waiting for someone to bail us out and we wont spend every off season rebuilding the team & back room staff because we've had to sell everyone on the cheap to keep the club going.

If we had gone into administration before the start of the season, as has been suggested, then Dyche would off been out of a job more than likely anyway

To start off, I'm not "angry" and if you read through my posts throughout this whole situation, you'll quite clearly see that I've said on numerous occasions that I'd rather Dyche stays and that he deserves another go, but I'm sure you already know that.

Give it a rest with all this "what has happened to Dyche is completely out of order" and he's been "sacked in the most undignified way" rubbish, what do you really know about the way he's been treated, how it's actually come about or even the way he feels about it? Absolutely nothing. All we know at this point is that the Pozzo's are replacing him, we don't actually know any of the intricate details of the situation.

Dyche should be given another chance yes, he's earned it and he deserves it, but the simple fact is that regardless of what some fans think the Pozzo's don't think he's the right man for the job, and if that's what they truly believe then who in the world would that sort of working relationship benefit?

Believe it or not I do know that Dyche has been treated poorly. The Pozzos were looking for a new manager before even speaking to Dyche and had announced in the media that Zola would be our new manager before even speaking to Dyche let alone sacking him. If that isn't poor treatment of a manager then I don't know what is.

I just find it ridiculous that one man being replaced in his job, albeit a good man who probably shouldn't be, for what's meant to be for the good of the club going forward, suddenly means we've lost our identity, the club we knew is dead and the Pozzo's attitude and conduct is disgusting. It's just an absolutely unbelievable overreaction.

So you know for an absolute fact that the Pozzo's spoke to the media about Zola before they'd had any contact with Dyche whatsoever?

To much talk on here about the so called Watford way, What is the Watford way ? .... Recently with the exception of last season we have been at the bottom of the league table fighting to stay up, we have been playing with a shoe string budget and on the brink of administration with previous owners without a scooby doo. I feel we realy have been over achiveing in recent years and I was always worried when the luck was going to run out. So lets enjoy the new Watford way being finacially stable with a decent squad and owners who have a record that shows that they know what they are doing, I also dont beleive for one minute that our academy is going to neglected it seems clear to me that this was one of the biggest reasons the Pozzo family bought the club and with players coming from all over the world and having coaches at the club like Zola who was one of the best players in the world when he was playing will help develop our current squad and our academy players.

So hello the new Watford way !

Yes I do actually. Dyche knew little more of the Pozzo's intentions as we did until yesterday.

And even if they hadn't it is poor form and completely disrespectful to tell the media that you have appointed a new manager before publicly sacking the existing one.

Seen it before, alarm bells are ringing, albeit faint ones in a distant village. Don't twist the identification of this into a hate campaign toward the Pozzos because it's not.

    My thoughts exactly :sign15:

Furthermore it's only been approx 2 working days since they took over, and they probably spent most of the week-end concentrating on the European nations final, being as they are football people and Italy was in the final.

Lets give them a chance to get bedded in, but the odd official club update to keep us reassured would be appreciated in the meantime ;)

Think we should all calm down and realise that none of us are actually qualified to comment on whether Dyche can do the job the Pozzo's have in mind, only the Pozzo's can! If they've deemed that man to be Zola then we should back him 100 percent and ten times over. In the granada takeover they bought in new people and look where they are!

And in regards to a soul; There is no such thing as a soul in a football club (in real terms), the 'soul' that is actually is in football is adaptable, look at city, there 'soul' was to be a club who would struggle to survive in the prem and then try to overpreform in the derbies v united, now their 'soul' is to compete with united in the league, but no one forgets the strife the club faced before!

As long as we keep what we are doing i.e the academy then our 'soul' remains intact, who cares if a few italians or spanish come in and use our academy, all the more exposure to us really.

3 working days ;) - and I hope they, as football people, don't see Saturday as a 'non-working' day...

You are of course correct, normally football people would not see Saturday as a non-working day, but they probably would when they are Jetting off to Kiev to watch they country play in the European Nations Final IMO ;)

He is not. You probably have tailored trends on where it takes the trends based on who you follow/followers etc. It also lead to Watford fans on twitter creaming themselves when they thought #watfordfc was trending not too long ago

Dyche was the brains behind Malky's reign and showed this with his performance as a manager last season. The longer time went on the better Dyche was getting - he will be an asset wherever he ends up. Add to this the fact that it was Dychey who brought the youngsters through and knew the right time to blood them and when to rest them. Today is not a good day.

As for Zola, he basically does not know the Championship and there have beeen many big names who have failed simply because they did not appreciate what it takes to perform in this league. I fear the Pozzo's may have underestimated this as well.

In time I believe that things will work out OK but for the coming season I don't share the optimism of many on this board.

I think it's unfair on Sean and a shame that he's been a victim of circumstance. However I also believe that it may be a blessing for him; he gets to leave with a good reputation, a big pay-off and will probably find another job easily enough. If he'd had a difficult 2012/13 season then his stock would have fallen and he would been sacked eventually anyway. You get the feeling that the new owners were always going to want to put their own man in the job, so although it's harsh I think it's best that they do it now rather than Sean working under intense pressure for a few months only to be sacked at some point during the season. However I think he's a thoroughly decent man, managed the club extremely well and wouldn't begrudge him nicking a couple of results from us when we play whoever he manages next. It'll be interesting to see where he ends up and how he fares.
