If Sean has gone it's likely that his back room staff will have gone too. So in congratulating Sean for what he did last season lets not forget the contribution of the likes of Ian Woan and the rest of the management team. We were often told about the team spirit last season and all contributed not just Sean. So to all those who are leaving we should be saying thank you and good luck in finding new jobs.

You sure you lost your login details from before or do you think that the tripe you decide to type may have get this sort of reaction?

I think we are all a little saddened about Dychey but the way i'm reading things is that the Pozzo's have saved this club from a huge financial mess which seemed to be unfolding before our very eyes.
Now if Bas was still in charge and decided to sack Dyche then yes there would be uproar and questions would need answering but these guys have come in and financially we look safe and the future looks bright for WFC.So in my view they are quite entitled to change things as they see fit and that is throughout the football club and not just the playing side!!

Now Mr ketteringorns if you have decide to give up on your beloved football team after 41 years because of this then that is your decision but I know there are many WFC fans out there who are "Watford till they die" including my good self.Football is a roller coaster ride and you must take the rough with the smooth.:badge:

No player/manager is bigger than the club

If Dyche doesnt want to play second fiddle to Zola then that is his decision, I wish him luck in the future but im disappointed in his actions to be honest

Is it though? I think this whole thing is about the changes taking place in football. This is no longer a football club, it's a money making operation.

Watford has been a special club with special values since the mid-70s, even through the bad times, and I was proud of that. The club was all about the supporters and their relationship with the club and players. Football has moved on and now, with this takeover, Watford have become part of corporate meat-grinder.

So what makes Watford any different from Leicester and Cardiff if things go the way they seem to be going? Worse for me, many here don't seem to care and see potential partial success as the be-all and end-all - Watford will never be one of the big boys and people will soon be booing even if we make it to mid-table Premiership.

I'll be there when the season starts, as I have for the last 36 years and I'll cheer and be happy when we win, but a large part of the Watford I was so proud of will no longer exist.

    Exactly.

We didn't have much under Dyche, but what we did have was important and they cared very much about the fans and tried very hard to let us know they sympathise with the cost of football.

Last season I felt that Watford was a proper club where the manager, the backroom team and the players are all going in the same direction and all have the best interests of the club and fans at heart.

What now? Buy Michael Chopra and give him £10k/week? Not field any academy products, fill the academy with south americans and become like every other club?

I'm glad we are financially secure, but many of the things I am proud of at Watford are nothing to do with success and may be sacrificed in the name of success. If I wanted success, I would support Man United. I want to support my local team, and if it stops feeling like my local team, then I might as well support Spurs. Not that I would of course, I just mean that supporting Watford might become a bit hollow this time next year when nobody has come through the academy and everyone at the club has a moustache.

We're not Leicester or Cardiff because the Pozzo's are completely different, I don't know what's wrong with some people, it's as if we're not allowed to move forward as a club, and to do that, we needed new owners, and these are a good fit for our club imo, let's wait and see anyway.

As highly as I though of Dyche, I am a Watford supporter, not a Dyche supporter.

There may be a radical overhaul of personal beginning with Dyche, but these guys know how to run a football club. So please can we just give them a chance to do it their way before we jump on their back?

My concern is what will happen to players like Murray and Hodson etc, with a new manager he will start bringing in his own players and these may get overlooked and end up rotting in the reserves. What is going to happen to Deeney?

Exactly El D. Things changed back on Friday. We are no longer the happy clappy little club, satisfied with survival and mediocrity and picking up players other sides don't want.

We now have a chance to really achieve something. Stable off the pitch and hopefully..in time..a revelation on it.

The best of last year's side will surely feature next season and those not up to it will be transferred out.

We will no longer be in a position of having to field players who are at best inconsistent.

Exactly Ron, we have an identity, and I hope that is kept, but to push on we need to stop being the side punching above our weight as the underdogs every season, which we did unbelievably well and we have been successful with our resources, and push on and become a bigger club, which we've only ever needed some finances to achieve imo, as we've done bloody well without them.

TPOL, Zola and the Pozzo's took the club over because of these types of players, this isn't a worry whatsoever.

The important bit is not how the Pozzos are different to Tan at Cardiff and Raksriaksorn at Leicester, but how they are the same. They are all there to exploit the money generating potential of the transfer market and the Premierleague (if they can get there).

As a by-product of that business model we may see a dramatic up-turn in the fortunes of the team on the pitch - all well and good. But don't expect a proper relationship between the club and the fans, as has been made clear already by visiting Italian and Spanish fans on this forum.

That will be enough for some/most. It's disappointing for the rest of us after the experiene of the 70s, 80s and up to present day.

Another way of looking at it is having integrity that makes us different from the rest. I just remember how angry I was after the way Mackay behaved, whilst I don't feel this is in the same league as that (no pun intended), how can we justify those feelings if this is how we are going to behave from now on? I for one would rather be poor, crap and honest than win and be ruthless.

So am I right in thinking that you will never complain about a lack of loyalty from players or managers that leave the club in the future?

This, of all things, is what I truly believe the 'Watford way' has always been about. We have always ranked highly in the community club of the year awards and I really hope that those of us who have supported the team through hell and high water are not forgotten.

The news may have reached North Korea, but it is yet to reach the Watford FC official site!! According to them we are awaiting approval from the FL before the Pozzo's can take control.

I haven't thought that far ahead yet to be honest with you. I'm as disappointed as anyone else here that we've lost what I believe to be a talented young manager, but as soon as the Pozzo's were heavily linked to us, a radical overhaul of personnel always seemed likely to happen and I just feel we should give them a chance to do their job before we attack them from every angle.

How is it disloyal? The Pozzos relationship with Dych is all of 4 days old.

Dychey surprised me in the way he performed last season, and his recent comment about loyalty being a two way thing seems quite poignant now.

However he was given an opportunity when Malky left (and Bas could easily have sacked him in early season) which has established him as a sound manager in this division, and he will be in demand. I hope he receives a decent pay off, and likewise for the other leavers.

My memory takes me back to some owners who were loathed, and others despised, and it is probably only Mr Dwight who received overall support - so let the new lot have a chance. If they, and that decent Mr Zola get us relegated - they will just have to get us back up again, we have been there before, but it might be more of a culture shock for them.

It seems that if the rumours are true if the Pozzos had not taken over - this thread may have been a case of `Who do we support now!`

The club ethos has changed already - but regardless of what happens to the team and infrastructure, the heart of the club is within us - the true supporters.

As long as that remains we have little to worry about.
