Deja Vu is indeed a very good film.

I'm working my way through the Superman films again, because quite frankly I'm just that cool.

Yeah I bought that for a rediculously low price of 3 pound or so on the back of a decent review from Nuts or Zoo. Very over the top on a very low budget, I think I wasted 3 pound- it's awful. This film may be decent if you're high on drugs, but don't watch it otherwise.

City of God, however, is immense. Watched it yesterday. Gooooood.

Really? I saw it in the cinema when it was out and I thought it was convoluted old tosh. So contrived I struggled to follow it and that's a rarity it I do say so myself (;)) Me and my girlfriend still mention it now as a 'low-light' in our cinema trips.

I watched the A Team, Invictus and The Bad Lieutenant on the two flights I took this last fortnight. All good to middling. Nothing particularly stood out but all good bets for rental I'd say.

    :dismay:

The bond franchise died with Cubby Broccoli.

Much as I respect Daniel Craig as an actor, both his outings in my opinion have been awful. The Last Brosnan one was a load of Luton as well.

The new Bond movies are utter gash. Bond movies were supposed to be ludicrous outings where hot air balloons turned into supermarket trolley, and he was supposed to insinuate that he was going to have sex with at least four of the women he encountered along the way.

Now they are just like every other dullard hollywood action movie, where ridiculously muscly men with greasy faces grunt their way through their handful of lines while a cliché storyline plays out in front of them. Americanised rubbish. Might as well watch Die Hard 4.

The Pianist was a great film. I personally quite liked Enemy at the Gates, thought it was a good film, got battered by critics though.

I had expected the Aviator to be awful, but actually it was genuinely a really good film IMO.

I disagree with you on every point, apart from the Aviator, which I haven't seen, so have no opinion one way or t'other.

Paranormal activity 2, I thought it was quite good, but the it was a bit slow at the start would be good if they got into the demon messing with their minds quicker.

Yes it was very enjoyable. Jesse Eisenhauer (sp?) is a great actor, was brilliant in another film called Adventureland, well worth seeing. He will be a star in the future. Mr Timberlake is not so good an actor though. It is a very decent film but perhaps rated a bit too highly by people.

Off to see Burke and Hare film on Thursday, a comedy starring Simon Pegg based on the murders of those names. Think it is the first film John Landis has done for a while so will see if any good.

The Pianist is a superb depiction of real life events. That scene where Szilpman plays a Chopin ballade to the Wehrmacht Army captain is profound without words.

The Aviator .... well worth a watch moogie. Beckinsale struggles though with her accent as Ava Gardner . Scorcese did a great job in condensing HH early life.

Decided to watch 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose' again. It is genuinely scary. A good watch for Halloween.

Mainstream Hollywood manages to ruin many decent films taken from other countries and remade there , whilst churning out formulaic rubbish.

It's a pity independent directors don't get more in the way of funding.

Pianist is boring. Simply boring. It wallows in its boringness, as though the starkness and lack of film will somehow help us to relate to the Jews' plight during the holocaust. I can only imagine that this is the reason it was so dull. Either that, or **** director and script.
