He wants to leave and the club want to sell him. Unless there is a last minute volte face by both parties and he renews his contract, I dont see any benefit to him from attending training. He will not have the correct mindset (obvious comment here about the rest of them). I am sure he will be training on his own (probably at our facilities) once he returns from international duty in the way lots of wantaways before him have done, and that is in everyone's interests.
Sarr was also told to return three weeks after the internatonal duties. Reason being they are/were hoping to get a deal done for him elsewhere so he didn't have to waste his or the club's time.
Saying this he looked like a top quality player against Brazil last night. Hopefully scouts have been watching Sarr play international football.
His goal involvments per minutes ratio is strong at this level, so I hope he stays. Another season of doing nothing except the odd assist and goal, and he will be key in getting us promoted. 15m now, or 160m for promotion? Do the math.
yes your right not really on a downer , am surprised we haven’t already done a deal though but guess interest in him has waited since last year
This may gather pace once Tonalli goes to Newcastle for £55m ….if AC Milan are really interested in him
No brainer to keep him for another season and let him go for free next summer Knows the league and fits Ismaels system
Problem we have finding a club who are willing to pay his outragous wages. I would probably take 10M now for him, just to get him off the books. But it doesn't seem like he is going anywhere anyime soon.
His wages aren't actually that high at all. Problem will be fee where we're still probably asking for 15+
Declan Rice has never scored against Liverpool in the Prem and he just went for £105mil. Sarr is easily worth £150mil. Gino playing the waiting game.
We could buy a whole team with that. Stupidly large amount to blow on one player. Worse than the 100M Citee splashed out to sign Grease Ball. £35M for Sarr was a huge amount for us still, but £105M?? is Rice even that good?
Agreed. We've seen what he can do against an unbeaten Liverpool side, that goal at WBA,....plus all his other scintillating performances in a watford shirt. Could be the difference between relegation and promotion.
Surely Gino has sent the players profile to every club in Saudi Arabia? Perfect solution for all concerned if he sold to one of them.
We already have him so no transfer fee involved, effectively a free transfer No brainer on a one year deal
I think we're all in agreement that his heart isn't in it for us anymore, despite that he still contributed (non penalty goals + assists) 15 goals in the league last season - the highest amount in our squad. If there's no suitors for 15m upwards then I wouldn't be dead against it.
He's not suited to the physicality of Championship football and if made to stay he'd probably put his body on the line even less than last season, if such a thing is possible. Get rid whatever the offer.
I'd rather be relegated than watch players like him walking about with 30% effort, only to chip in with an assist from a percentage ball into the box that Bayo eventually bundles home.
His mind and abilility is still there, we saw that against Brazil recently. He obviously wants to further his career and going by last season he doesn't want that to be with Watford. He has never quite replicated his "Liverpool performance" since that famous day, although as others have said he does score the odd worldie and gets assists, so he does still have a use. I just cannot see anyone piping up the £15M fee Gino wants for him, unless it's a club who really want to take him off our hands. If he puts in at least double the effort of last season for his final year it would be a marked improvement. Having said that, he would surely want to show off his protential to other suitors so he might actually have a good season if he does stay.
Just our luck, Luton get him for 10m, he takes of his shackles, scores loads and we see him celebrating with Rob when they are mathematically safe in early April.
