No, but aren't we talking about loyalty? Many Northern Irish people identify more with the Republic than with the province. They are allowed the choice, so why shouldn't they take it? If we had rigid nationality rules that would be one thing, but a Northern Irish Catholic opting for the Republic is to my mind more reasonable than a Londoner who couldn't get into the England team being able to play for Ireland because of a grandmother he may hardly know.
So Kane is onto 8 goals, Vardy onto 13. Not bad considering we're only a third of the way through the season - would be great to have two strikers full of confidence going into the Euros ..
Exactly. We don't need Kane and Vardy when we have Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge and Walcott to have another chance to disappoint at a major championship. Let's not forget the best striker of his type in the PL - Andy Carroll!
Draw for the group stages is at 17:30 today. BBC Sport reckon best-case draw: Switzerland, Slovakia, Albania and worst-case draw: Italy, Poland, Wales. I'd personally prefer Austria, Hungary, Albania.
UEFA starting to take money from credit cards now. Annoyingly I think I only got 2 out of our 3 matches even though I had the highest amount of loyalty points possible excluding away games.
Luck of the draw - and unlike with the Italy game in Brazil which was due to start at 2am our time guess those in control of such things didn't want to swap the times to suit us.
Got tickets for NI v Ukraine and NI v Germany. IFA have completely messed up the other match, people with 7 loyalty points have got tickets in category 3 when people with 21 havent. I had 17
The FA haven't told us who's actually been allocated tickets yet, but have helpfully told us money is going to be taken this week. I should be OK for all 3 group games though.
UEFA issuing 1000 more tickets for the match I didn't get as they did not allocate based on a loyalty system (like the IFA told us they would). I know block bookers who got 0 tickets and people who didn't go to any qualifiers getting all 3. Absolute joke.
IFA look to have sorted the issue securing extra seats for the Poland match. All fans who missed out on 13+ points will now get a ticket so I should now have all three group games!
They have debited my credit card over £800 but still not a clue what I got, I hope I got the lot for that amount, did not think I would not get many this year, got opening ceremony as well.
Nice one. Seems to be reports from other countries that UEFA have messed up their loyalty scheme (Wales and Belgium). I imagine for that price you applied for a high category?
Because of this year I don't have all the caps, I went for cat 3 to increase chances apart from final where I went cat 2 but willing for cat 1 so I think I have been charged 500 euros for a final ticket, the odds are I won't use it, and bloody expensive but best to have one they and if by some miracle England are there money well spent ! UEFA don't seem to know what they are doing, just sending me an email saying what I have got would be nice and warning that I am paying more then 500 euros then they said they would, and if there is a problem with the credit card they cancel your order and don't give you chance to sort it out. Hope it is half as good as France was in 98 !
I had the payment show up on my card and then got an email the following day. I'd imagine you will get one tomorrow
I think there is around 30,000 NI tickets at the minute and then probably a few more in the March re-sale. Of course many fans will be going to all 3 games though so not 30,000 fans in total.
500 quid has been taken from my account but the FA still haven't told me what games I got. I'm assuming it's everything I applied for.
I went cat 4 everything but ticked will accept a higher category. Also applied for the final but not sure what cat I've been given. Not that it will matter anyway...
