If Gueds had the sort of game Jurado had against Chelsea, we'd have a fifteen-page thread, a Kickstarter-funded statue, eight hours' worth of YouTube compilation vids, a Twitter account dedicated specifically to that game, and an annual re-enactment for charity.
Your posts sound more and more like some strange dislike about Guedioura because he's had the gall to score a goal and setup a goal this season, two things that Jurado hasn't done. You know that Neymar has one of the highest stats of giving the ball away in La Liga? Why? Because he's ****? No. Because his type of play means that happens. I'll take goals, assists and forward movement over 'turns and tricks' as the former bring results as opposed to absolutely nothing as Jurado has contributed this season. Every position isn't Jurado's favoured one and every time he fails to perform it's not his fault. £6m and not a single goal or assist to his name.
Pretty sure that Jurado had a thread dedicated to him because he left an aging Yaya Toure on the ground only for the move to come to nothing. All the skill in the world, no end product. He's another Nordin Wooter.
Depends how you define technically really. He's clearly got a better touch and I would trust him to kill a high ball dead more than Guedioura. Surely the ability to strike a ball properly is also part of technique though and Guedioura is a far better at shooting and crossing. His tackling and heading technique is also better. Jurado's only a better technician if you limit it to close control and short passes. What seems beyond debate to me is that Guedioura makes things happen far more than Jurado at the moment when they're both playing out of their natural position.
And probably because he's given licence to take risks because his coach knows he has 10 truly world class players behind him on the pitch when he does so.
I agree with this 100% As a side note, now we are safe i'm expecting a more attacking approach to the remaining games. This will suit Jurado and i'm thinking we may see some better performances.
He is a good player ... that we don't play expansive football is not his fault I also find it incredible he's not scored already, he's had some great efforts that deserve more.
Many players from all leagues around the world have great efforts but no end product. He deserves nothing.Waste of money. We should stick with the same team that beat Arsenal in the semi.
Cream rises to the top. If Jurado was half way decent he would've at least scored or created a goal by now. The season is nearly over, there is only so long you can say "he needs time" or "he isn't being played in the right position" Troy was our number 9 but has had to adapt to a number 10 role and has done so brilliantly. A quality player is a quality player wherever you play them and they will find a way to influence games. I think people like Jurado for the some of the same reasons People liked FF, they see him do a nice bit of skill, or control a high ball dead and think any minute he's suddenly going to do something amazing and justify about 8 months of not doing anything, well it's nearly the end of the season and we are still waiting.
I acknowledge all Jurados skills, drills, clever flicks and possessive tricks, but where does it ever lead? No assists, no shots, no forward momentum - its like he's a robot programmed not to create chances...
In the second half and from a poor clearance by a WBrom defender I thought Gued also passed it straight and forward to Deeney who went on to shoot which Foster pushed round the post for a corner. This was our only other direct shot on target and assisted by Gued
Sorry but FF is a much better player and with an end product than Jurado.I loved FF and think Jurado is **** can someone please tell me what Jurado offers????because I see nothing.
Exactly. We should be looking to build the team around Jurado, he's probably the most skilful player we've ever had. It's telling that the people who are professionally involved in the game like Quique and the writers at WDSport can see the talent but a lot of the layman fans can't. There's a tendency to focus on the big moments in games, rather than the overall flow and the passages of play that don't eventually lead to anything. If people were able to see the bigger picture, they would appreciate what he brings to the team. Also, a lot of the best foreign players the Premier League has ever seen have taken one or two seasons to fully adapt, there's every chance that Jurado could become one of them if we persevere with him.
Gueds is one of the few players in our side that will look to create a chance and be positive....I'm happy therefore that he may lose the ball now and then in trying
Nyom would've chipped it for a goal kick. His distribution leaves me yearning for the Jordan Stewart chonk down the wing.
I was thinking about this after yesterday's game - survival in the PL this season gives us access to the riches of the new TV deal. It will confirm us as one of the three or four dozen wealthiest clubs in the world. When you think that in the last 15 years the club has had to: take drastic steps to avoid administration, sell and repurchase the ground, contend with less that perfect owners, etc. etc. It really is "amazing" that we have come through all this and taken the first step towards a long term PL future. On the topic of administration, everyone seems to have conveniently forgotten how "everyone's favourite second team" Leicester City cheated their way back into the Premiership in 2002-03. I know they have been down to the third tier since then, but they really got away with it at the time.
Jurado is very good at creating a yard of space for himself. Out approach this season means that there isn't much on after that because our midfield don't attack the box and we have little width. I think with more attacking endeavours next season he'll do far better in terms on influencing games.
Agreed, Jurado looks up and finds players stationary and often only beside/ behind him. He does need to do much better, but also gives us a bit of magic which we are otherwise missing. He needs runners from midfield to be effective. Play him and Gueds together. Drop Ighalo.
Gueds and Jurado are like ying and yang Guesds pusts in a shift, always gives 100%, but mostly ends up running round like a headless chicken achieving very little Jurado is technically excellent, but plays at half speed and games pass him by If only we could merge them together in a laboratory...
Didn't go to the game, watched the extended highlights on Sky and thought it was a pretty dire affair ,I've seen plenty like that and it's all about the points on those occasions and we got them so a great result. Gomes was obvious pick for MOM,the second penalty was another example of how players are able to kid the refs by placing their legs into the defending players.Thankfully the ref at (spit as I say it) Leicester got it right and sent that cheating twot (saisi) Vardy off. WHU should of had a pen earlier for (saisi) Huths obvious ,right in front of the refs, foul in the box. They are top and will probably go onto win the title but they have been getting the rub of the decisions all season long and I'm gutted it's just caught up with them now. Back to Watford,we will need to be right up for it on Sunday as Palace seem to starting to turn a corner.I hope they run into a brick wall at the weekend,COYH.
He should be looking for Deeney&Ighalo making runs into the box or putting a decent cross in surely?Has no assists no goals,He has no end product and is lazy at tracking back.He creates a yard of space and does nothing with it.
Oh right, the "it's not that he's useless, we're just too stupid to see all of the invisible goals and assists he creates" argument. And Jurado was Quique's man, he probably persists as he's desperate for him to do something to try and show that he wasn't a complete waste of money (and he was signed before QSF realised the pace and intensity of the Premier League). Of course, if we were to focus on the passages of play that don't eventually lead to anything then Jurado would be a shoe-in for PFA Player of the Season. He's 30 in a couple of months - given his lack of pace and where he plays on the pitch I can rather only see him getting worse with time. Yes, well, occasionally he might do some things with it - best of which being pass it straight in to the goalkeeper's midriff. I've never seen a player so accurate with that skill!
They are like ying and yang, however Gueds has both created and scored goals for the team while only being restricted to cameo appearances for most of the season. Jurado has spent long periods of time in the team, but has created no goals and assisted no goals. He isn't a defensive DM so regardless of what else is or isn't happening around him, what is his excuse for not at least scoring and creating the same amount of goals as Gueds has, given his superior amount of game time?
