Yeah despite my dislike of your pubs you are better than the average visitor we get. I try REALLY hard to dislike palace but you aren't that bad. Do you ever listen to palace radio?
No, they wouldn't 'rather' stay at the pub or at home, but sometimes it's a lot easier to. A few of us have jobs, families or some other form of commitment outside of football making it difficult to get to games on Fridays. There is life outside of football.
Lineup will surely be: GK Almunia RWB Cassetti CB Doyley CB Hall CB Neuton LWB Pudil CM Jenkins CM Chalobah CM Murray FW Deeney FW Forestieri Subs: Bond, Nosworthy, Anya, Abdi, Vydra, Geijo, Geoffry Mujangi Bia Score will surely be: Watford 0-0 Crystal Palace
Anybody know how i can get a ticket? I've been to the last 6 home games but the website wont let me on - i can't get a phone in the day very easily, i tried to call the ticket office today and was on hold for 5+mins each time?? edited to add...i can now get on the website!!!
Email the club ticket.office@watfordfc.com and they will ring you back to book tickets as the phone line is knackered. Edit... To slow
I hope we have Vydra and Deeney starting on Friday (and no Neutron) otherwise this match could be another Bristol City or Charlton. Right now I think I would settle for a draw but if Zola can put out our best 11 (or at least 9 or 10 of them), then I would hope to see a narrow win for us. And lets hope we don't get any injuries to key players on International duty this week.
If we're not up 10-0 by half time, i'm going pub to watch the rest of the game on TV. Almunia Doyley - Hall - Ekstrand Cassetti - Abdi - Chalobah - Hogg - Pudil Deeney - Neuton Subs: Bonham, Hoban, Nosworthy, Jenkins, Muzza, Iwelumo 10-0 to the hornets.
For some reason this fixture is really giving me the fear. We always seem to lose to Palace, I've got a feeling that Zola will want to make some changes because of the internationals and we could really do with the points if we want to push on. At least the Palace fans turn up in good numbers and are vocal so hopefully we'll get a good atmosphere on Friday night. Really hope it doesn't work out this way, but I fear a 0-1 or a 1-2. But you never know, maybe this is a season for reversing all those bogey team results.
Don't work yourself up into a state - they are a pile of carp - they have a couple of ok players but frankly are the weakest squad in the shake up - if we play anything like we can we will brush them aside - just compare the sides - other than Zaha - who would get in our side -answer - none of them. Maybe Vince Hilaire or Ian Wright or even Peter Taylor - but this current crop - no chance - Pudil or Parr / Vydra or Murray / Chalobah or Garvan Forestieri or Bolaise - get a grip this is men against boys
We need to be careful that palace don't steal vydra off us........ "Vydra will be a big miss for them, having scored 19 in 26 (a better goal/min ratio than our Glenn), but he might still be able to play depending on how many minutes he plays tomorrow. (On a side-note we should keep an eye out on his situation with Watford as looks like becoming a free agent soon, opening him up to offers which might allow us to swoop for him...)" www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=129588&page=2
If there's one thing the Vydra saga has shown up is how many deluded fans of Championship clubs there are.
It's not necessarily a rational reaction, it's more of a gut feel. If I was being rational, we are a hugely improved team, and of all the teams we've played with a full contingent, the only team I felt properly outplayed us at home were Hull. However if there is a team that is equipped to get at us like Hull, it might be Palace. They have good wingers who might be able to get at us in the one area I feel we can be exposed which is the channels between the centrebacks and the fullbacks. Mix in a proper striker in the form of Murray and they could definitely pose a threat. Hopefully though we've got more than enough up front to make the difference, and the fact that they'll be coming forward will give us the chances we need on the break. I really hope I'm wrong about this one as it would be great to go into the weekend putting the pressure on the teams around us.
Need to watch out for their charisma by the looks of this video. I'm worried we could get bored off the park:
Got a similar feeling , all depends on whether Abdi Vydra ,battachio ekstrand etc play ,ie how many of our internationals will we be missing . gonna guess at Palace by to win by 1 goal.
Do you think you'd get in trouble for pulling it up so it obscures his vision just as a corner gets taken. Worth a try surely?
I never understand predictions of defeat and especially this season. We are an excellent side and Palace haven't been so great recently. I admit they have some good players but so do most teams. One thing to make of note about Palace is the manager. Holloway rarely has a plan B and plan A is all out attack which is just exactly what we would want. As for the players away on international duty only Nos it outside of Europe and probably won't play. I will be amazed if Vydra doesn't start considering the Gung Ho way Palace play and the rest will be fine. Also remember that Battochio, Chalobah and Vydra played little or no part in the Bristol City game so should be ok for this. I believe we are the best team in this division and I don't think that's arrogance as plenty of other non Watford fans think the same and there isn't one game I don't think we will win for the rest of the season. That doesn't mean we will win every game as things happen in games, bad misses, mistakes at the back, the ref etc etc, but we should never be looking at any game thinking we'll lose. It's Palace not Barcelona FFS. COYGB
