I can't see Palace, in their current run of form, posing much more of a problem than Boro, Bolton or Forest to be honest. I suppose they could shock us, but I really think we have the better all round first team squad. I predict a comfortable win. Perhaps the 4-0 I guessed in the predictions league is a bit optimistic, but we've whupped a few decent teams when we've been on song and got the run of the ball.
We will still win this even with a bit of rotation... This is what I would do with Zolas rotational head on!: 1.Almunia 2.cassetti 3.Forsyth/Pudil (depending if pudil plays today) 4.Hall 5.Doyley 6.Hoban (More rest than others and be suprised if Ekstrand is fit) 7.Chabola 8.hogg 9.Abdi 10.Deeney 11.forest Key differences to Bristol city.. No Murray...... Eustace and Hogg not clogging up midfield together and Forest gets a chance to play with an in-form striker who will take players out the game. 3-1 watford. Vydra to score off the bench late on!
super kev will score has to he always does.... where as before the transfer window i would agree entirely about cpfc and them fading away -i now believe them to be a major bloody threat to wfc as they had a decent window and more so to the chasing pack trying to get top 6 - eat your hearts out Brighton - it may well be now that the top 6 as they stand will stay and just the order of them may change - unfortunatley no stopping cardiff - they get their victories by a goal most weeks - lcfc is the one to catch. should be a reasonably interesting finish to the season. wfc points fine/deduction pending - hmmm
Looks like M'boro were the fade away team. Watford 4: Deeney x2 Forestieri Vydra Palace 2: Philips Murray
This is a crunch game. Lose this and our confidence will take a battering, and other teams in and around the top 6 will realise that they too can beat us. Win this against our playoff and competitive rivals, and we will not only be flying on confidence again, but we will send a clear message to those in and around the top 6 that we aim to go up this season and will not give up the fight for 2nd place easily by any means. I believe that we can and will win on Friday night, but most importantly, Friday night will show us all where we are as a team right now, and whether or not we have the bottle to grab this league by the balls and snatch 2nd place.
We may have a few players missing, indeed. As opposed to the Bristol City game, Zola may actually not have much of a choice this tim around when making changes to the starting line-up. The players that had a chance to shine against Bristol City clearly didn't take it, but luckily for them they may have another chance come Friday. I expect them to do everything humanly possible to impress Zola and force themselves into his plans for the next few games. Forestieri got off to a great start this season, but since the emergence of Matej Vydra, it is fair to say that he has faded a little. If he starts on Friday, he should aim to put in a great performance and push Matej out the team for a while. The same goes for Alex Geijo. People on here say we have great strength in depth this season. Yes we do on paper, absolutely, but unfortunately for us, teams on paper don't win football matches. If they did, we would be dead certs to go up. Now is the time for our fringe players to prove they have the mettle and deliver on Friday night. COYH.
All being well and everyone returns to London Colney fit and ready to go, then the team should be the following: Almunia Doyley Hall Ekstrand Cassetti Pudil Abdi Chalobah Battocchio Deeney Vydra Subs: Bond, Hoban, Forsyth, Eustace, Hogg, Geijo, Foresteri
The key is the midfield trio of battochio abdi and chalobah will be fine to play. They have and will be pivotal this season. Never ever again should Hogg and Eustace start together
That would be my team as well but have a feeling Vydra may not start and it will be Forestieri instead. Hope I'm wrong, because as I've said before Palace in typical Holloway style are very attacking which plays in to the hands of Vydra. Nosworthy apart we should play the best possible side. No game for 8 days after this so they can all have a break then.
One of you guys mentioned that jedinek is playing for palace, albeit in a mask, makes a big difference to the palace line up.
wow that Palace season ticket video was painful to watch, surely they would have been better just doing some advertising with the cheerleaders than those lifeless drones.
That was really strange to watch. I've never seen such a lifeless group of people. Don't they have voice tones in south London? It's like reading something with no punctuation. Do you have yours yet. Are you between 18 and 21 make sure you check out our prices. The best ones are where you can see their eyes moving to read the autocue. Hopefully they play as well as they present!
If there was one thing that would stop a palace fan buying a season ticket it's that video, absolutely terrible!
Well I must admit I'm not a Palace fan, but after watching those charismatic individuals I would buy anything off them. We should put these lads in the UN. Maybe they could broker world peace?
On the game see speroni talking to the press about how they can beat watford, let me teel you one thing for sire, if speroni plays like he did when watford were at celhurst watford will walk this one, it was the worst keeper performance I've seen live this season.
I have to admit I'm one of the 8000 who have bought one. Get over the sad video, who cares, how many have you sold for next season?. What's it got to do with the game Friday ffs.
You can add me to that list fella. I'd jump through fire for that lot. Anyone who is not with me can sod off. They're probably just jealous they didn't snap up a ST in time.
Lil bit precious about it? Chill out, bit of banter, same way you'd be the exact same way if it was the other way round.
What worries me about this forum is the fact I keep thinking I'm on a millwall, Brighton, Luton site, you do your self no.favours, the Watford fan on holmesdale net, superhorns I think, puts the vast majority of you to shame.
