Are the p1ssy pants brigade stilll worried about relegation?

Wasn't the prettiest of performances but it was enough.

Win against Hull we are safe, draw to Hull we might be ok, lose and we are in trouble

Superb from Doucoure then. Game winning challenge .

Good to see Mazzarri bigging up Doucoure, Marriapa and Kabasele for playing well despite limited game time . At least he's big enough to admit his mistakes to the press.

Mazzarri also said that we can now continue playing this formation in preparation for next season, so more 433 , which I'm happy about .

Expect a new RB , CDM and possibly a better CB and Niang in summer ?

I agree we were not under the cosh, like against Spurs, but that's down to the quality of the opposition. They had enough of the ball in dangerous areas for them to have caused us a lot of problems. The reason they didn't was more down to their lack of ability then anything else.

The tactical change by Mazzarri caused real problems, and he's not learned over three at the back. He still wants to play it and it usually has a negative impact on the team.

We give the ball away far too cheaply, even when we are not under pressure. We played the same against Southampton but they had enough up front to cause us problems as did Spurs. We play it square across the back inviting opponents to close us down. There were many moments when just an interception would have given them a free run at our goal. It's fine lines and we seem to try and play under this pressure, which I consider is totally unnecessary. It's high risk football and not percentage play.

I thought we would win today, but it's a game where we should really be in more command. Go 2-0 up then manage it. We are always clinging on and it only takes one mistake or one moment of quality and it's all square. I've seen it happen so many times in the past.

Instead of going for it to make the game safe, we make a formation change which hand Swansea the initiative. It's negative and we are just about getting away with it.

For my mind, things are just not right and we need changes. We are staying up now, but we cannot continue another season like this one, or else our luck will almost certainly run out.

Positives from today. Three points and clean sheet. I've slagged him off plenty but Holebas was sublime today. Mapps was solid as was Doucoure.

Negatives. Walter's negative tactics almost went t1t5 up. Prodl's distribution is crap. Amrabat is a joke of player with a 5hyte attitude. In my opinion, he shouldn't be anywhere near the match day squad let alone in the starting eleven, yet he looks baffled when subbed after doing **** all for 70 minutes!

Yes,a couple of players went to him to say well done.

Efficient performance and a shame about the offside goal.

Agree that again the crowd got a wee bit umpty when we shut up shop. To my mind it was a sound move and as in the Sunderland game,we never looked threatened.

Had a few words with Gino as I met my friends in the LGT at full time.He seemed cheery enough and surprised a long streak of misery was conversing in Italian with him!

Swansea look quite poor and can't see them salvaging their season.

Good job you predicted that 3 wins would help us. You could have added that 3 wins would have given us 9 points, in your opinion.

Go on holiday for the summer. Come back when you are relaxed and hopefully have lost the permanent rain cloud over your head and the permanent chip on your shoulder

I have no malice towards the p1ss takers, but you are two a penny and are as predictable as rain in the English summer.

We had to win those three games, because of the context of the league and the effect a loss to Sunderland or Swansea would have had on us. By the time the season is over, I think you will see that I was actually correct, heaven forbid.

Good to see you speaking your mind again HB. I noticed those chaps from Bournemouth you were praising last week threw in the towel and lost 4 0 to Spuds like us. How dare they give up!

Just give it a rest now and I'll look forward to your ... Whatever manager manager we have posts out next season.

There is plenty of room for improvement. However the more entrenched we become in comfortable midtable the more absurd your constant negativity becomes. I'm starting to think you are just a wind up merchant to be honest. (Edit this to HB1 not Grover!)

The thing is, I've never once said Mazzarri should be sacked. Another forum lie about me. Nothing new there.

I'd go further and say that his performances have been better than Kaboul or Britos' typical showings. Mapps should be playing,

The performances are not good enough. We are underachieving in my opinion. This has nothing to do with the league table. We are fortunate there are a number of poor sides alongside us this season. To be 10th on 40 points after 31 games, is higher than usual.

But had we lost today, we'd be 14th and only 6 points from Swansea, which is a little uncomfortable, and hardly entrenched in mid-table. God knows how bad it would have been had we not picked up the full quota of points from the last three home games.

We are not very good basically. I would be very surprised if we beat last season's total of 45 points. It is conceivable we could lose the last 5. This is why I was explaining how important it was to be going to Hull on 40 points already. It makes such a big difference to everything.

People think we will pick up plenty of points in the remaining 5 games, and I hope they are right, but from what I've seen of us all season, it would surprise me if we pick up more than 3 points.

You were correct because you said we needed points to stay up? I said the same thing before the Southampton away game and have now been proved right, despite what the critics say.

I was right when I said if we lose all the games since Southampton we will be relegated but nobody listened to me. Next season I will be proved correct because I'll make further claims that I'll twist either way to suit me.

If you think we are underperforming then presumably you think the squad is good. When you say we need "changes" what do you have in mind? You've said in the post above you don't want Mazzarri out?

It was the shape that did for us though, I agree Bats had to go. He's a nothing player if the ref decides to not allow him to push his defender out of the way with outstretched arms. However, the change to 3 at the back was a mistake. It invited Swansea onto us and our previous dominance in midfield was lost,

OKaka made a difference as the ball stuck up front. How refreshing to see a striker who moves into different positions to receive the ball, unlike Deeney who just stands in the middle and points at his large head.

Swansea were terrible. I said to my cousin, which was watching his first Watford game in about 30 years, that as nervy as we might feel for the final 20 minutes, a neutral observer would probably be confident that Swansea wouldn't score in a thousand minutes, so toothless were they.

First half we played well. So good to see Niang, Doucoure and Cleverley always showing for the ball. That is why we don't hoof it do much anymore, because they always offer an option. Contrast the stand and point tactics of Deeney and Amrabat and you see why I feel the latter two have big place in the long term future of the side. They are percentage players and aren't cut out for any more developed footBall

I DONT WANT MAZZARRI SACKED......BUT I DO WANT HIM TO IMPROVE. Maybe uppercase will get the message home.....very much doubt it though.

We need continuity, and I do not think he's the right fit for the club, but he's here now and another coach means more disruption. He has to improve massively though and I'm not sure he's capable, but he has to be given that chance.

Job done. I was disappointed by the Kabasele substitution and the consequent decision of choice to invite them onto us. Nothing like the necessary decision to shut up shop against the Baggies with ten men. We were doing fine as we were formation wise. The opposition can only score a goal in your own half. Well play ALL the match in their half then. OK, they didn't score a goal. But why chance it? Just get another one ourselves instead.

Doucoure was my m.o.t.m. Again. Always available, strong in the tackle and with a Kante-esque engine ...

Fine. Like I said there is plenty of scope for improvement but to say Mazzarri needs to improve "massively" when he has a club like Watford on 40 points with 5 games to go just makes you look absurd. Some of the games this season has been dreadful, but he's done the job required with plenty to spare. Anyway like I said I now think you just want to wind people up as a hobby. Either that or you have an attention requirement in your life that can only be satisfied on this forum.

Anyway we are all agreed - Wally stays! So might as well leave it till next season before unloading the clip on him eh?

Oh...but that has been explained. It enabled us to score a disallowed goal, so was justified. Priceless stuff.
