Seems to have a great engine, high work rate, rides a challenge well. Doesn't seem too defensive but overall if the price is right it's a yes from me.

According to a French football site (Footmercato), West Ham and Everton have enquired for Lemina and Juve are now saying that they don't want to sell at the moment.

"Juventus will sell 23 year old Lemina as long as the ‘right deal’ is presented to them.

Lemina has repeatedly been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Watford one of several clubs said to have previously been interested, but now there’s hope of a sale.

By ‘right deal’, Tuttosport believe Juventus mean an offer in the region of €15m. That’s not a huge transfer fee for Watford and would provide a good chance of profit in the future.

Lemina has a contract with Juventus until June 2020, so there’s no pressure to sell unless Watford, or anyone else, come up with the right terms."

Offer them Capoue and point to last Season's stats. Maybe a YouTube highlight reel.

Can he play on the wing or striker, otherwise we dont need him now

  26. Doucoure and Chalobah in the holding roles are the one bit of the squad that looks sorted, its the attack or the centre backs where we need Juventus to start offloading players

Hypothetically, would people be content to put Chalobah at centre back where he's played in the past, to have a midfield of Lemina and Doucoure.

Well, he's never actually played there at senior level, has he? I know he was considered a 'future captain of England' at centre back before he came to us the first time, but as soon as Zola took a look and decided he was a creative central midfielder, he never looked back. The only time he's come close since is at one of his ridiculous Championship loan spells, possibly Reading (?), where he was fielded at left-back on occasion? Unless I've missed something glaring out, that is.

For that reason, no, I'd much rather play Chalobah in the centre, and keep him developing. I doubt he'd want to swap the position he's been playing for 5 years now, just as he finally gets a chance to play it regularly.

We don't even really know enough about Lemina to make a judgement, do we? Unless we've watched him over a full season, of course, as some have. Anyway, yes, he plays for Juventus, but he also struggles for game time. I'm sure he's not awful, he's probably rather decent. But I've seen Juventus fans in discussion say he's not good enough, and even one or two who think that Chalobah is/will be a better player.

So whilst I'd have been very happy to see Lemina come in in the first place, and I wouldn't be unhappy now, it seems a little extraneous at this point? I suppose if we sold Capoue, which I'd be perfectly happy about, there'd be a central midfield space, but that would seem to leave a lot of similarly rated and aged players looking for the same minutes in the same positions. A nice issue to have, perhaps, but balancing that and keeping them happy would always be tricky.

I've given my opinion on players I know far less about. Lemina is a quality all round player, he's fast, strong, can dribble, can tackle. you could probably put in most positions and he'll do a job. He's like a Gambian Army Knife. I've said many times before though that I can't see us buying him whilst Capoue is at the club... which makes me happy because if we sign him i'd see Capoue leaving the club very quickly.

Young and inexperienced. Not sure Chalo will be a nailed on starter. Think those 3 to cover injuries loss of form suspensions etc would be a good defensive combo.

Hes a very good player, but hes not a winger or a striker. You could possibly play him in the advanced midfield role, but that pushes Pereyra out left or it would mean dropping Doucoure or Chalobah or if you played him the 2.

Id love to have him here and woudl be very excited if we got him for 15mill, buts it not the priority at the moment.

I dont think Capoue will be anything than back up this season...thats if hes here.

  32. Dusbero

Certainly not. I wouldn't expect him to be played as a winger or a striker. But if an injury crisis came about, Lemina would be the guy to pop on the wing until someone came back from injury. We played Capoue on the wing before, Lemina would be more effective on the wing than Capoue, if push came to shove and we were down on numbers.

We need a squad of players - the last two seasons has shown that. Under QSF we used the same players with little rotation and they were knackered by January. Wally did the same to a certain extent but also had the injuries and then a lack of squad depth to fall back on.
We need quality in the squad and ideally 2 high quality players in every position giving Silva the option to rotate.
I'm not sure we can rely on Chalobah to be able to play every game. I'll be his first proper season in the Prem. I know he was technically available for Chelsea last season but he wasn't ever getting a regular starting spot in their midfield. Bring Lemina in and let's build the squad depth we need.
