Sheffield United Birmingham City or Burton Albione Peterborough Coventry Newport County Yeovil Nottingham Forest Notts County MK Dons Rochdale Cardiff or Mansfield Stevenage or Reading Millwall Preston Carlisle or Sheffield Wednesday Any of the above will do!
Any fixture that gets us on the TV will do, so league 1 team or below away or a home tie against one of the big six.
A question..... When was the last time we were drawn away to a lower league side and the potential giant killing game was shown live on TV? I can't for the life of me remember it happening. We lost at Millwall last year and won at Forest the year before but I don't recall them being live on TV. Previous seasons to that we have drawn a lot of Top-6 sides. Back in the days (mid 80s-90s) when I used to travel to many more games than I do now I really loved those trips. Even when we played sh@t and got stuffed like at Shrewsbury or it was freezing cold like at Scarborough when we fought the law and the law lost. Also remember a football special train up to Port Vale that was a real laugh. None live on TV though. So have we ever been on live TV for a potential giant killing away to a lower league side? That's the type of draw I fancy.
Millwall game last season was shown live on the BBC.. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08cws4s Before that, not sure but you might have to go back to Walsall in 86/87 for when we faced a lower league side live on tv.
The League Cup 2nd Leg at Cheltenham was live on TV So was the FA Cup tie at Plymouth Away to Birmingham/Burton for me. Burton and Man City are the only two I haven't already been to, I think.
Have you been drinking? They were in a lower league than us, so it was a potential giant-killing (albeit with Hooftosser in charge, I seem to recall hoping Plymouth would win).
Why on earth would we want a top six side? It will be, as it usually is city or Chelsea away or some good awful rubbish like Bradford at home
No quite sober thank you. Lower league refers to levels 3 & 4 of the league system.. not a league below the one your playing in. How long have you been following football?
Certainly not for me, quite the reverse, give me 3pm kick off on a Saturday anytime. Hate having to go add these times, especially the late ones.
I would like any lower-league side at home, or any of the following sides away: Sheffield United Birmingham City Coventry City Newport County Yeovil Town Notts County Milton Keynes Dons Of course, I don't expect this to have any influence on the final draw, but it's just what I'd like, in any case.
yeah that's the last thing we need, with some ****y friday or monday KO time. **** that. Saturday 3pm please
I'm hoping it will be Rochdale or Preston away. I keep reading on Facebook about that bloke that has been to the North West about 28 times and never seen us win. Surely we can beat Rochdale or Preston or even Wigan if they win the replay with muffins.
I was thinking brighton away, but there's too much chance of them turning us over to hope for that. Getting to the next round has to be the priority over an ace piss up.
I'd like Millwall home or away, can get to either and know quite a few Millwall fans so would Bea decent day out Other than that a home draw so I can go
I cannot remember EVER winning there going back to the 90s! After Millwall last season we should not be so certain I feel - mind you we'd probably field a better team.
Preferably at home rather than away and against someone better than us so that we can put all this cup nonsense out of our heads with a loss. Sorry that doesn't really narrow it down does it?
