Agree with Cthulthu, the guardian would (or should) still be targeted even if guarding someone else. they are not usually just "out". Could be the other wolf but I think the rules also say if a wolf targets another wolf by mistake then they both meet, and the weaker wolf loses.

I'd go with special role personally. I still also don't think this clears up which message was which yesterday.

 

That's my take on it - new role, but uncertainty as to whether that's a good or bad role.

Based off this logic then, me and Opti are confirmed good by virtue of a wolf trying to kill me after the Seer viewed me as good yesterday and therefore CB and Hornetgags are therefore unconfirmed because the other message claimed to have viewed CB.

Just caught up and read through. A shame to lose Diamond as his experience would have been helpful.

Why do you think he was the Guardian CB ? I thought the guardian was outside your house but didn’t see anything ?

I agree that PJ being out is a little strange, although he has indicated that he was allowed to go out ( “Or close enough” )

Neither message is of help. At the moment we have no idea if CB is good or not from yesterday, so still nothing to go on.

It will be interesting to see what happens tonight, if the wolf tried to kill someone else who is out at the time or if that was just PJ special super power.

Its never happened before has it, a villager was 'out' when Wolfie came knocking? He can't be the Guardian as he is out every night and certainly isn't immune that way. Aren't all the roles announced before the game? I'm very confused by this. If it is a matter of Beta vs Alpha (I'm not familiar with that rule) it points to PJ being a wolf no?

 

The reason I say Opti is that the second message yesterday said CB was good, and the first message today then followed that continuity. I was viewed good yesterday and the wolf then tried to kill me at my home and then the 2nd message doesn't follow that same continuity. My take on it is that the Wolf saw the Seer post I was guaranteed good and decided to take that guaranteed kill instead of going for a random.

 

As HH24 established, if I targeted the Alpha wolf as Beta I'd be killed by the Alpha, or as the Alpha I'd kill the beta. Regardless a wolf would have died last night if so. Which would make life easier for Good.

 

Have to say I'm enjoying this, being on this side of the equation and knowing what's going on for a change.

 

Process of elimination and nothing else. Only one message can be correct and the other is posted by the Wand my take is that the decoy messages are those implicating CB and Hornetsgags as the 1st message today follows on from 'viewing' CB. Yeah, it is random that Opti was picked and I fully understand your skepticism, but the Seer has nothing else to go on so early in the game in the same way I was picked on the first day.

 

Its interesting to note the poetic cum cryptic style of yesterday's first message has been dropped. Its possible the criticisms of it, if it was from the seer, brought about the change.

It looks like the Wolf has opted to post first and throw Hornetgags into the equation. Unfortunately I have already had my view today and saw that Optimistichornet is GOOD.

2 messages starting with pleasantries and an exclamation mark suggest they are by the same messenger. So if we can work out one then we should get the other. I'm inclined to think that message 1 on day 1 is the Seer so Powerjugs and Opti are both good.

Also, I looked up the special roles on that site and the Priest stood out to me as a role that could protect anyone by blessing them. So if a priest protected Powerjugs then it could still mean Powerjugs doesn't have the special role but someone else does.

 

Second message is intended to cast doubt over my 'goodness' it's a ruse, the second message was posted 25 minutes after the first, plenty of time to read the the first message and view me, but chose to view someone else.

Therefore second messager is the wolf.

 

Seeing the messages laid out like that definitely helps, although a good wold would try to copy the style of a seer to cause confusion.

At the moment we have nothing to prove that Gags, CB, Opti or PJ are good or bad, just speculation.

 

But the wolf doesn't view anyone, the wolf only gets to post a message.

That's my point, isn't the point of the wolf to use misdirection and deception to reduce the number of goodies?

 

If the rules do in fact clear PJ of being a wolf it makes cthulu's accusations earlier look a little suspicious.

 

Yeah. The wolf tried to kill me yesterday when the Seer confirmed that I was a Good, and the Wolf then 'Viewed' CB as good. As per the posts today, the Seer has then picked someone else at random to view in Opti who has been found good while the Wolf then followed on from picking CB to 'View' by then putting your name into the mix. It sure as hell doesn't imply you or CB are Evil but purely like everyone else you and CB are as of yet unknown. He's using you and CB's names to confuse the rest of us

 

Ha! Lot of speculation about this new role today...

 

That explanation made my head hurt

When did the seer confirm you were good ? There was a poem saying "The man is good whose dogs have been walked.", it doesn't actually name you. We all assumed you because you had been taking your dog for a walk in the morning. HH24 has pictures of dogs in her profile picture.

At the moment I think we need to keep all options open

 

If Day 1 Message 1 (the poem) was the Seer who then changed their style after the criticism then it would be incredibly unhelpful to change it to the same style as the Wolf's Day 1 Message 1. So, quite confident that if the seer wrote Day 1 Message 1, then they also wrote Day 2 Message 2. Unfortunately, I don't know if the seer did write the poem...

Any other thoughts/opinions?

 

As I'd mentioned my dog Phelps a few times before the Message as well as walking him. But honestly I hadn't at all taken into consideration HH24's Profile Pic, then in which case I could be completely wrong on my assumptions.
