Yeah...that would include Pozzo's tenure. Keep up!

I dont I think they need discipline our spare coaching role should go to regimental sergeant major! What they need is spine backbone and ability to battle ,which we know they have got ,when they can be arsed.

Maybe Slav isnt a motivator , sports pyschologist needed ? How do you get talent to perform in a consistently good manner like Bournemouth seem to manage!

I don't think our inconsistency is that surprising though, we're just exploitable for opportunists. If the opposition does their homework, we can be shut down quite easily. With this team it never feels like we're in control of our own destiny. We don't attempt to out think or out work other teams, we're seemingly too stubborn to show them that much respect.

We are capable of fantastic goals, fancy passing moves and searing pace. But good teams aren't built around that stuff.

4 wins out of the last 5 and up to 5th.

    One more for the list:

We conceded two goals; both of which he should have saved. Without Guediorra, Angella and Ighalo's goals we would have lost 2-0 today.

I can forgive the odd sloppy goal being let in against a direct side, as long as we're converting our superiority at the other end.

Which would suggest he's learnt from early mistakes. His changes during games are mostly positive too IMO. Even in defeat we were much improved 2nd half V Wolves after a woeful 1st 45 minutes, could've nicked a point in the end (not that it was deserved over the 90).

Agree against Wolves we were undeniably awful but they actually scored just as we were looking more confident (i.e. we'd finally had a shot on target)

You obviously weren't there - or you would know Barnes, Blissett, Callaghan, Mighty Mo and even Worrell Sterling would rip our defence a new one. And if they didn't, Coton or Reilly would just rip their heads off.

Anyway, the main part of my post was that we needed to work harder - something we did today and we won! Now, back to the Peroni

After today at Cardiff - will the real Watford please stand up, and if it's the team against Fulham, Reading & Cardiff, please hang around.

The Christmas and new year period is usually a good indication of where teams will finish. Somehow we're 5th. Surely we must be the poorest team in the top five?

That's one way of looking at it.

Alternatively we're in fifth place, not far off automatics, despite having four managers, our star player out for a month and a small injury crisis.

I think that being in fifth despite that is testament to the quality of the squad. I truly believe that if any other team in this division had to deal with that, they'd be miles off. I'm very excited to see what this squad can do now that the manic first half of the season has ended and we have a fully fit squad.

Like many on here, I still haven't taken to him and there are a few others who i'd have over him (but not Warnock, he can **** off), but I certainly can't argue with his record so far. Happy for him to stay on as long as his win % stays the same!

Can't disagree with that, but it still frustrates me that not long ago we were top.

Then again, so were Derby and Norwich. Surely Bournemouth cannot continue like they are?!

I think the fact that we are fifth and still in touch with automatic spots is testament to nothing other than the abject crapness of this division this year.

I believe Bournemouth are going to win the league this season. Everything about that club is right. They have good owners, a great manager and an excellent team spirit with quality enough to score plenty of goals.

Having said that, I would not swap our squad with theirs. It's just the other things that make a club successful on the pitch is where they are ahead of us.

It may sound strange but I remember being hugely impressed by Bournemouth when we beat them 6-1 last season. That first half display was excellent and I've followed their progress ever since. Do not make the mistake in thinking they are a flash-in-the-pan. For my money, they are the real deal.

I still believe we can finish in the top two though, but big improvements have to be made. It's a leap of faith on my part to think we can make those improvements. Our biggest rivals will be Derby for that second place.

I agree. While change and disruption has done nothing for our season so far, bite the bullet and put back in charge the man you got for the job in the first place. Put him back with his assistants and let him crack on. I've come to the conclusion that this guy won't be the answer to our problem. 4 wins out of 5 we should be expecting. 7 defeats in 15 is not acceptable.

Whether or not Jokanovic is up to the job is still up for debate, but I agree with every word he says here.

    http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sp...vic____We_need_more_humility_and_solidarity_/

Quite frankly, I don't give a toss if the players read this tomorrow morning and think 'well I'm not playing for him anymore. How unprofessional'. Jokanovic is bang on the money here and any insubordination that may come as a result of this should be firmly and swiftly clamped down on.

I have serious doubts about whether he is up to the job, but well done Joka for telling these players how good they really are.

I do not know if this is the right way to present these things but over 200 comments only 8 months ago because at this stage last season we were just in the play offs then we signed Watson and AG began to run things.

We seem to have developed a much more rosy view of the previous manager so that all of a sudden the joker has turned into consistent tactical genius playing to our strengths etc . Yes he got us promoted but look what some were saying after 9/10 games in charge when bar Watson and AG we had a settled team

Compare these comments to what some are now saying about QSF after 3 games and many new players - some of which might not be retained.

We should be patient and whilst we are all entitled to our opinions and yes we probably should have had an attacking option on as sub yesterday in the last 15 minutes let's not forget it also took two new signings and nearly a dozen games for SJ to turn us into promotion candidates in an average league let's be honest

Doesn't matter how many times this salient point gets raised, Watford fans will still judge players and managers after a couple of games and make rash statements. Some just need to be negative about something.
