I don't like the way he's taken our style of play, although it was difficult to determine what we were trying to do yesterday. I expected us to build on the 'controlled possession' he goes on about, but all we seem to be doing is getting slower, allowing opposition defences all the time in the world to organise, and making it harder than it should be for us to find that final ball. We also can't cross a ball for toffee.

The team is now significantly less than the sum of its parts, and we're definitely not going to make the autos playing the way we are. We might just make the play offs, but the chances of us winning them are bleak when you look at our record against teams in the top half of the table.

I'm still behind Joka, but he's got to buck his ideas up, and he's got to be given wide men who can cross the bloody ball as soon as the January window opens. That will take a lot of pressure off the middle men who have it all to do at the moment.

Difficult to see Jokanovic giving a motivational team talk.... even after the win at Fulham he was misery personified

While I do agree with a lot of your post, I disagree with this. Whether this is a problem that Jokanovic inherited or created himself, it is his problem. He was brought in to solve the problem, and he clearly hasn't done so. Knowing the Pozzos, if he doesn't soon, someone else will be brought in to do just that.

Any man who drops his children for his job is not someone I would like to follow. Your trying to play down his boring persona by bigging up his personal attributes which none of us know anything about. We dont know the real reason mcgugan has gone or Andrews and we never will. The only thing I can see as a spectator is a good team playing poorly regardless of the result. I see a manager who has no passion or drive stand like a muppet by the side of the pitch motionless. I watch players having a good game subbed off whilst players who are having an absolute shocker stay on the pitch. I see players get the motm award dropped to the bench and people wonder why they put in a half arsed effort 3 games later when they finally come back on. I see a one strategy game which does not change at any point which again as a spectator I can only assume is because the man in charge of having a back up strategy doesnt know how to do his job. Since he took charge we have played well twice. The first time was against forest when the team was riding the crest of their success and the other time was against TEN man fulham. The guy has to go. Those backing him are doing it on assumptions. Open your eyes at the games not at the watford observer and other media outlets. On the pitch is the only place it all actually matters and he is not delivering it.

Joka is paid to pick the team and make key decisions during matches, of which I feel he is not very good at. Examples of this yesterday. Our left side was totally ineffective with bassong, Doyley and Anya. Bassong doesn't look comfortable on the ball. Doyley has never possessed a football brain and Anya is just a 100 Meters sprinter. These three players are simply not good footballers and should not be being picked.
A key decision which Joka should have made involved Deeney. Once Deeney was booked, he did nothing for the rest of the game. Joka should have grown a pair and taken Deeney off instead of using Vydra as the scapegoat.
I'm glad Abdi was singled out as being at fault for their goal. He's a good player but far from being perfect. Many on here thinks the sun shines out of Abdi and Deeney's arses. It doesn't.

We won't be going up under Joka.

The Pozzos will surely not change manager again. Once we are out of the promotion race, maybe but not until then.

We are too vulnerable for three at the back. The 'wing backs' are not up to the task. 3-5-2 is not for us and if it means losing those players set up for it, then so be it. Will that be SJ call, I dont know.

I really can't see them wanting more instability this season, surely not.

SJ can't take all the criticism from yesterday. Once the players cross that white line, they have a job to do. Most of them didn't. Igloo did make a difference when he came on which was the only highlight.

Neil Warnock is now available so if the POzzos do make a change then maybe the English coach that people have asked for
is ready and waiting. Personally I don't want him here, but you never know.

Last night was not great but surely we need some stability. Like Malteser has said this should have been sorted in the summer. For whatever reason Sannino left must have been around for a while, unlucky with Garcia but surely McKinley could have been given the job until he really was fit for the job as it wasn't long until he was ready for work. Speaking of BK, a complete farce and now Joka. What The Pozzos have done for this club financially and the new stand is to be honest a miracle but on the playing and management side this year they have not covered themselves in glory. I hope Joka is given time as he thoroughly deserves a proper chance. Anybody who doesn't see his children to concentrate on the job deserves a chance to sort the team out. I couldn't do it.

Joka is an ex professional footballer. One duty of the pro is to be as dull as possible in interviews.

    We are sooooo predictable....

Tozer finds anya who fails to get a cross in
Tozer fails to spot Vydras run and gets dispossessed
Tozer lumps it to Deeney who uses his strength to lay off to Abdi/Tozer who shoots from 20 yards and scores/hits row Z
Tozer plays a simple pass to Paredes who loses it

We put together a very valuable squad, built a new stand and given out extremely generous contracts. We stay in hotels for every away game and have all the best conditions for success.

Except, bizarrely, the coaching team who are a rag-tag bunch of leftovers from various regimes.

How much success do we expect with a manager who can barely speak English whose coaches aren't even his choices, most of whom can't speak English either? Half of them are from Garcia who was barely here, and some are from last season and even the season before.

Surely it makes sense that if the Pozzos actually believe that Joker is promotion winning material (not that there has been any evidence at all that this is the case in the last 12 games) then surely he is worth his own team? Doesn't seem like a vote of confidence that he can't even bring in his own coaches. Maybe he really is just keeping the seat warm for Garcia to return and take up the head of his coaching staff?

    Its all very weird.

After the fiasco of all the managerial changes, I can't see the Pozzo's making another

Just accept that we aren't going up automatically this year, we might scrape the play offs, if not then we just look forward to a new coach next season

Totally in agreement with this. Must be hard for whoevers in charge not to have their own management team and indeed no control over what players they have at their disposal.

Must put off prospective coaches who want to bring in their own staff

I reckon the language thing is a big issue. We have 16 nationalities in our squad if you count the home nations as separate and Lloyd as Jamaican. Yep, that's 16 folks which, without doing the detailed research, wouldn't surprise me at all as a record for a championship club. Many of the foreigners won't speak good english and then you can add in the coaching staff and there's two more nationalities and languages. How do they all communicate? Semaphore? Morse code? Should Esperanto be a required basic in the skill set of a modern professional footballer? We had a Brit asst. coach in BMc and then Gino Pozzo messed it up in extremis twice in quick succession. Firstly in appointing him head coach so suddenly. Surely the need to consult the faceless bureaucrats in Udinese could have been anticipated given OG's ongoing health concerns. And then having made his own decision, almost immediately going back on it. The man was there. And he spoke the language (if you count Glaswegian as English!) and had lots of Championship coaching experience. The Pozzos have an excellent long term strategy for the team, the stadium and the rest of the infrastructure. But when faced with a critical decision in the short term they, or Gino, messed up big time.

Now the fallout from all the upheavals is with us. A pot-pourri of coaching staff and an unintelligible head coach which will be the same whether he's being interviewed, on the training pitch or delivering a half time pep talk. I don't buy it at all that just because we've been better in the second half means he suddenly comes over all Martin Luther King at half time. What he has been mostly good at is in recognising what needs to change during the match on the pitch and his choice of subs (other than against Cardiff when it didn't work well).

I was as enthusiastic about the Joker after Sheff.W as we all were. A guru had arrived from heaven. Now that's looking like a new boss (again) one match effect. Welcome back to the real world. All will be forgiven in the long term because the Pozzos are here for the long haul. But the need for a decent British asst. is now imperative.

All the people I went to the game with thought he was MOTM. I was surprised to see him miss out.

Munari is surely one of our most over rated players.

True, but Anya has made it something of a trademark. I don't know if it's just a case of me just watching out for it, but I swear it happens game after game after game. It's got way past ridiculous.

The Chelsea match is considerably closer now. I might be barking up the wrong tree but so many teams coming into form lose it so completely when a huge match is approaching.

Well Boxing Day turned into a disaster. We were awful. The players seemed to have no clue as to what they were supposed to do. There was minimal fight and desire. Please will people stop trotting out this mantra of "we've got a fantastic squad." Clearly apart from Abdi, Deeney, and Gomes, they are average at best. As Moog says, this system being employed by the Pozzo's at Watford is clearly not working. We will not go up, I think that that's starting to become apparent. Even if we do manage to stay in the play off positions, these boys are not up to the fight. They are a bunch of show ponies, who are great when everything is going well, but **** when the chips are down.

The Pozzo's have done wonders off the pitch with the club, but how long will it take for them to realise that the "model" does not work here. It's actually probably better suited to the Premier League, but you've got to get there first and that won't happen the way things are going. By the way, I'd get rid of Joka and bring in a British coaching team.
