As you say, even outside of his very questionable talent/capability, given his injury record over recent seasons it's just another clear act of profligacy to add to the list that we carried him forward as one of the acting senior centre back options. The fact that it was one of the aspects further used to justify a season with four centre backs and an incomplete squad list is lunacy, bordering on criminal.
Our defence makes theirs look like brick walls but I do think Dennis can nestle one into the top corner. Hopefully we can manage before a nuui signing in Jan - I'd love to re-sign Deulofeu and hopefully Foster is fit soon. We could use Ben and Geri right now. Probably just sign an old pros son for the Dads v lads game. Heard we're interested in Norberto Solano's boy Troy Pical Solano.
Claudio asked Gino about defenders in January. When asked by the press, he mimed exactly how Gino responded to his question.
3-0 defeat. 1-0 - Early goal conceded through a horrible error (Bachmann? Ngakia? Kiko? Surely not WTE again?) and then 1-0 at half time. 2-0 - Little 5 mins of pressure from us after half time ends when we get caught on the break, their forward is through clear 1 on 1 with Bachmann and they score their second without too much difficulty. 3-0 - Third comes with a couple of minutes left after all our heads have long since dropped. Bachmann might have done better.
It does matter. Burnley have scored 11 goals with him on the pitch. And 3 without him on the pitch. He has played 49% of their minutes. He carries the side. Unclear though if he is back for this one - looks like he is facing a late fitness test and with the games coming thick and fast now they might prefer not to risk him.
I have put Friday's shambles completely behind me and my natural (usually misplaced) optimism is fully restored. 2-0 to the Golden Boys.
Why is The Invisible Man modelling for Watford merchandise ? Or are we now selling magical floating hats ? Would go well with our defenders that magically dematerialise.
Going to be brilliant when Sierralta is named in the starting XI, everyone's belief goes through the roof then he costs us two goals and pulls his hamstring before half time.
We gift the opposition their goals though, they don’t actually need to create them themselves so it is largely irrelevant.
We have two defenders in WTE and Cathcart who will probably start the game. They will simply not be able to cope with the Burnley physical play and ariel threat. We have Bachmann in goal who will not come off his line to claim any ball in the air even if it is within the six yard box. Hate to say this, but Covid19 is our only hope. Could be Burnley's largest winning margin of the season so far. I hope for the best, but fear the worst.
I guarantee that Sierralta will start for the first time in a few months and will proceed to get injured within 10 minutes
I would replace WTE with this tomorrow night, towards the end. Just so they know a goal for them is extremely likely if they follow this rule because he won't.
If we can win this game tomorrow night we will open up a 5 point gap over Burnley and a 6 point lead over Newcastle and Norwich as well, but not only that we will also go above Leeds on Goal Difference after their 7-0 drubbing at Man City tonight..... SO COME ON U GOLDEN BOYS YOU CAN DO THIS
EDIT: I have just realised we would also go above Southampton on GD if they lose at Palace, and I should also point out Newcastle would have to lose at Liverpool for us to open up that 6 point lead over them by winning at Burnley. Therefore tomorrow could potentially a big night for us in the relegation fight should we win, however on the down side if we lose we drop into the bottom three.... SO COME ON U 'ORNSSSSSSSSSSS
How can you guarantee that ? Is that because your Dad has given you inside info , and if so how can you guarantee that he will get injured within 10 minutes ?
I can’t see beyond a 3-4 thriller here…. Burnley 3 - Bachmann 01 mins, 02 mins WTE 03 mins Watford 4 - Vydra 4 mins , 5 mins , 7 mins WTE 99 mins
Or we will lose and drop into the bottom 3 below Burnley who will still have a game in hand on us. No chance we will win at Burnley now we no longer have goal machine Gray and midfield maestro Hughes.
