Taking into account inadequacy and incompetence , I'd go with this tomorrow: Gomes A.Trialist - A.Trialist - Kabasele - A.Trialist Cleverley - A.Trialist A.Trialist A.Trialist- A.Trialist - Richarlison
Funny one this.. as everyone thinks the term "soccer" is some kind of dastardly Americanisation of our wholesome game and yet we called it soccer way back in the 50's/60's/70's. Granted it's fallen out of usage but it was a commonly used term back in the day.
It's public school slang which now only survives on Test Match Special, Stevers. We need to assert that ours is the real football, as opposed to rugby (which has evolved one stage further from a bunch of peasants carrying a pig's bladder from one village to the next), American football (ten seconds of violence followed by a five-minute committee meeting) and Aussie no-rules (which is admittedly a very good game).
I'm sad everywhere I read pundits are betting against Watford I think Watford can beat Brighton Even put money on some of the w's today Watford West ham West brom Palace
Everyone is betting against us because we are on an appalling run, nothing. Has changed. And our opposition can’t score or win. It is a well known constant in the universe how this will go. We get 1 or possibly 2 goals the opposition 3+
Precisely. We live in a world where Hull FC is a club that plays rugby for gods sake. And the owner of the local football club wanted to change their name to the Hull Pigeons, Llamas, wildebeest or something. He should be suing the a**e off the rugby club to reclaim their rightful name.
Last season I had an eight fold got 7/8 right Watford lost one nil If they are the only ones today I'm gonna stop backing Watford
Not forgetting Gaelic football, also a good game. And, old boy, one simply must differentiate between the superior rugby union which is a jolly good game played between the chaps and where the middle/upper social class players respect the referee and call him ‘sir’ , and the oop north rugby league which is the lower caste working mans version. Back in the day some schools in the Home Counties played both ‘rugger’ of the Rugby Football Union persuasion in the autumn term and soccer/Association Football in the spring term leading to many a poor boy not knowing which social class he was supposed to be representing - all contributing of course to the mental health issues and current schizophrenic tendencies of many men of a certain age today. Of course the thick leather clodhopping boots and Dixie Dean shorts could be worn in both sports back in the day, when the leather football got so heavy in wet weather it felt like heading a medicine ball and helping contribute to the dementia that affects many an ex player today. Ah, those were the days ...
It’s going to be a tough game, too many missing, mentally not right after our loss of form. 2-2 But Gray scores - yey!
This is where struggling to score brighton go nuts and bag 6 against a weakened dis organised and disheartened watford .brighton 6 watford 0 knockeart scores 4. Heck I hope I am wrong .
Brighton 0 Watford 2. We're going to miss Doucoure, but the players available should be more than capable of producing the above result. It'll boil down to the attitude, which I'd have thought has been suitably addressed in the week since the Udders debacle. If Okaka isn't involved today, then Marco should be arrested and charged with a crime. I don't know what crime, but I'm sure our lawmakers can invent one appropriate for the circumstances, assuming Brussels lets them.
If Success comes on and scores the winner all the Watford fans should raise a glass of Baileys to him tonight. If Okaka comes on and scores two then he can replace Deeney as our superb sub. If Gray scores a hat trick, Xmas has come two days early for us all.
If Gray scores a single goal, I’ll have five additional pints tonight and chant his name before every one.
Gomes (GK) (C); Janmaat, Pr*dl, Kabasele, Holebas; Watson, Cleverley; Carrillo, Pereyra, Richarlison; Gray. Subs | Karnezis (GK), Mariappa, Wagué, Capoue, Sinclair, Okaka, Folivi.
Watson in tells you just how poor Capoue has been. In fairness to Watson he shone under QSF, lets hope he can find that form instead of what Walter managed to get out of him last year
Teams not actually that bad, Holebas should've been sacked, not given the next game to start. Typical Watford too, no word on Hughes injury?? Went from possibly being ready to not involved in the squad at all. Yaaawnn. And I think Silva is persistent on killing Richarlison, the boy needs a rest!
