That bench..... Pleased for Folivi, though he may not want to be associated with the debacle I’m expecting. Capoue must be really bad. We’ll probably go and win now. Would be typical Watford.
Central defence requires its own Hokey Cokey, Oh the Kabasele Prodl, Oh the Kabasele Prodl, Oh the Kabasele Prodl, Leg stretch, flag up, 1-0 down...(repeat until battered)...
Genuinely rather have Mason playing than Holebas, the t**ser. Watson is awful and past it so expect him to be incredible today.
To everyone saying Watson is ****, this is now the third year the club have felt it necessary to have him around the squad. He might not be the greatest player but there is plenty of talent ahead of him today and he's a leader which we are in desperate need of at the moment.
Watson will be alright. He'll have known all week that he's likely to play, and he'll be as ready as he can be.
72 mins in 1:0 We are ****, we cant pick out a cross , we have no shape and look third best (even the officals look better than us) Yes I know Silva out is extreme and I’m not quite there yet, but he ain’t crowning himself in glory , he is responsible for our shape and squad selection - and it’s ****
What has happened? We had a few players out suspended or injured today that are important to us, but that team should not be that bad. We look a totally different team to the one that started the season. I feel myself looking at that protracted period of uncertainty around Silva's position more and more as we carry on failing to pick up points. I don't want to, but it coincides perfectly with our massive downturn in form. Everton away started it off. We haven't recovered since.
Admit I'm worried. Reminds me a bit like watching Glenn Roeder football only difference this team cost a lot more. Can't string a pass or a shot together. How we get out of this I don't know, but we always do.
Can’t remember a more lacklustre, toothless performance. Go to Everton Silva. Okaka did more in 15 mins than Gray did all game.
Also can anyone explain to me what Tom Cleverley does except run around a bit? The man isn't good at anything at this level. Definition of nothing player.
It's dire right now. There's no point denying that. Well and truly shocking. The obvious answer looks like sacking Silva but I'm not so sure. This has been a recurring theme THREE years in a row. It has to be something else, sacking the manager won't solve it. I don't believe the players stop caring because Silva didn't come out and commit to the job. They are grown adults, professionals who are paid handsomely to do a job. That's not to blame for the rut. There's many reasons we're not winning. Richarlison has been worked out, he saved us against Swansea & West Brom. Two results we didn't deserve and masked problems. Injuries & suspensions. yet again. Kiko, Chalobah, Doucoure, Hughes, Zeegelar and Kaboul all instantly walk into the first team and they improve us A LOT. We also haven't recruited a good winger or a striker. I say we keep Silva, this run of results should humble his ego which might have been a little problem when we were doing so well. Now he can shut up and focus on showing his skills. The likes of Holebas, Capoue, Deeney, Okaka and Watson can all be moved on over the next two windows. Two or three decent additions needed in Jan and we'll be back to where we were early on in the season I believe.
Utterly abysmal. The defence is a sieve. Janmaat and Holebas are awful defensively. No communication. No one taking charge at organizing the show. No wonder we ship goals. And to cap it all an awful miss from Okaka at the end to rescue what would have been an undeserved point. We could and should have been 3-0 down by then. What has happened ? Injuries play a part. Consequently fatigue too. But the coach needs to be aware of what he is doing training wise. Surely we can get in an experienced set piece coach for the defence and abandon this zonal joke attempt at marking ? I would not jump on Silva yet. We will get reinforcements in January. Slimani and Zarate will bring in more power and creativity but we need to find quality at the back. We've been linked with Abdennour and Hinteregger and they would make the sieve less leaky. Watching us defending at corners is not good for the heart. This is now a true test of Silva and the character of the squad. We missed our best player today and Femenia too. Richarlison looks jaded. Gino must be aware that we need to strengthen the squad as a priority in January. Quality players. Winger, centreback and striker and get rid of Deeney and Capoue. Would like to see the back of Holebas too if we are lucky enough to find a decent fullback somewhere. Tagliafico from Independiente ? I hope Gray recovers his mojo. It might just take playing alongside Slimani or Zarate threading balls in and around defences but when you think we spent just £11M on Richarlison his fee seems exorbitant. Particularly when PSV Eindhoven have just splashed just ten million on Argentina's next striking wunderkind Maxi Romero of Velez. Unproven yes but with the same characteristics as Richie and a real nine and not a fragile kid either. A brick outhouse with two good feet and a shot like a hammer. Anyway Merry Christmas to you all. Lets remember Graham Taylor , Billy Hails and all those associated with the club and fans like Stephen Todd and lets hope 2018 with new signings brings cheer to everyone. I'm sure once the injuries clear up as well we will be fine.
Im not too bothered about current form despite the match moans. I expected it at some point because start if season it was all about survival to me getting to that 40 point target. Other people's expectations may be different. Im hopeful we can still reach the target.
Well I can't blame the officials for that, Brighton should of had 4 or 5. Shocking no shape second best to every ball couldn't string a few passes together. Okaka was our only player that deserved a 6 out of 10 and he never really looked interested. Leicester will have a field day against this *****. Watch us be the team that stops City.
Also, who on earth do you bring in? Pulis? A foreign coach mid season in such a risky situation? Admittedly I don't know many foreign managers but don't know a single coach who; a) would want to come to Watford right now and b) is available right now
We didn't look like winning that from the start. The only thing that kept the scoreline respectable was them missing a number of fair to good chances. Their goal completely met my expectations - basically a catalogue of errors culminating in Gomes feeling he should have done better. But really the way their goal went down is just a distraction. The bit that's killing us is the lack of any threat going forward. Richarlison is marked out and seems incapable of finishing the one headed opportunity which falls to him every game. For all his faults we don't play remotely to Gray's strengths. Carrillo looked half decent when he was rapido but it seems he left that behind in a drunken haze in Lima as he's looked half the player since he got back from WC duty. Pereyra is a shadow of what he was - I said after Liverpool in the first game that he looked **** scared of getting injured again and now it's playing out surely everyone can see how he shirks anything remotely rough? I know injuries are biting but the scary thing is the fundamentals have gone completely and that can only be down to Silva.
