Beginning to see what the club were not keen to make any kind of association for a long time. Although I suspect that viewpoint was more down to luck than judgement.

I’m 58, incidentally. So I’m not sure what your point is. Are you saying that things have mellowed over time? If so, that’s probably right. But there are still plenty of things on TV today that would offend an old spinster from Tunbridge Wells. It’s hardly the 1950s, is it? And rightly so.

On the specific point: how many people in this country do not support Ukraine? But I take your point that thete is a slippery slope here and I’m inclined to agree it is best left to others.
