We Need To Talk About Ron

He was having a right meltdown last night. Hope he's ok.

 

I get your point, but I’m genuinely starting to wonder if he’s experiencing negative mental health. He’s relentless. I actually agreed with his stance at one point but it’s like he can’t help himself now.

 

Not sure I understood much of this (due to the foreign language it was written in) but I couldn't agree more.

 

I have no idea why this thread keeps getting bumped. People must be this Ron bloke or one of his hangers on. Can be the only explanation.

Who is Ron? A forum member? Why do I need to get so irate about him?

 

Just the 16 tweets from kick-off today, including one with Elton shaking hands with Putin (?!). Healthy.

 

Loathsome individual. I turn off the DNSYE live X spaces most times when he comes on. Didn't do so today and got to hear a rant today about how disgusting and horrible it is that there were people with Ukrainian flags in the sensory room. Unhinged and offensive, week in, week out.

 

It's unacceptable. And more than that, it's negligent. Unacceptable, negligent and disgusting from the top down. Everyone involved is negligent and every week it's disgusting that someone even has to point out how unacceptably negligent it all is. The only time it's not unacceptably negligent is when we're winning. It's also rotten, poisonous and spineless.

 

He’s got some odd views about diversity and, oddly, Bachman but he’s pretty much been spot on about the Pozzo ownership. Our fanbase is infested with cowards and we need someone to be vocal about our horrific owner. I don’t agree with him about non Pozzo stuff but I admire his ability to speak up and take so much flak from the woeful fanbase.

 

Has he used the word “rancid” yet ? Has anyone seen you and Ron in the same room ? ….I'm joking

 

I do enjoy the word rancid. Unfortunately very 2023 after being overused on here. It will come again I’m sure

 

6 pages of people posting about how awful he is and how irrelevant he is. That’s more than most of our players.

In the eyes of many on here, he’s clearly more interesting than the crap being dished out every week. A useful idiot and wonderful distraction.

Embarrassing from everyone on there today, both sides of the argument. Im at the point im fed up of our fans and club. But its only football wont let it bother me.

 

Seeing some stuff on Twitter but I don't listen to these podcasts or space things - what's happened?

 

I’m also lacking a little context as I follow neither of them, but from what I can see someone created a mock up of a Ukrainian flag with ‘Pozzo out’ on it, and tweeted it to Ron saying there was more chance they’d be allowed that into the ground than a ‘regular’ banner as the club have permitted Ukraine flags before.

Again, from what I can tell, Ron has taken the mantle and started going out about how we should be apolitical and Luther has chimed in stating we hosted a group of Ukrainian supporters with a view to meeting Shevchenko’s lad, and allowed a presentation of some sort. Ron and Luther have had a bit of handbags resulting in Luther calling Ron ‘a bigot’ and accusing him of ‘manipulating hatred’.

Ron hosted a space yesterday evening kicking up a fuss that a Club employee would say such things.

 

If I’m incorrect with anything I’ve said that I apologise, I saw the space in progress when on Twitter last night and joined for maybe 5 minutes so this is the impression I have.

FWIW I think Ron should’ve kept his opinions to himself (like with a lot of things) but also Luther has taken the bait big time.

 

Why does anyone bother looking at what this guy says? Is it just morbid curiosity/ car crash TV ?

 

Not great all round, people being tagged in left and right (eg fighters in Ukraine army).

Although it did make me chuckle when someone tagged in the Kremlin.

 

It came up under ‘For You’ on my Twitter last night. I ended up scrolling through a bit of the conversation and tuning into the ‘space’.

Yes, all very bizarre and I’m sure there will be some regret on both sides.

Twitter is designed to show old people stuff that triggers them and get them to engage though.

 

That's Facebook isn't it? X is for triggering millennials.

 

Depends on your definition of old, I’m just about a millennial and whenever I login to Twitter my feed is full of Jeremy vine waging war against motorists and people getting enraged about people parking on pavements, so I’d consider myself old, and their target market.
