We Need To Talk About Ron

What started with the best intentions of calling out Gino Pozzo, calling out disastrous player recruitment and pretty bang average effort is now gone too far.

Arguing with Helen Ward over women's football.
Harrasing certain players endlessly.
Going on every X space to spill endless bile regardless of the match result.
Harrasing Luther on X the BLM taking the knee stance.
Blocking fellow Watford fans he doesn't agree with on social media.
Now Rupert is trolling the club for the acknowledgement of it's minutes silence for the murdered Swedish fans.

When is enough enough and should we as fans keep humouring him under the "free speech" he keeps Trumping out, or is it time to start calling it for what it really is: Trolling, and not even particularly good trolling anymore either.

 

My point is simple:

Everyone has the right to opinion.

Where it is opinion that may offend others it should be called out.

 

OK. So reply to him on X then. Easy. If he's not on here your efforts in starting a thread will be wasted?

Don’t get how anybody over the age of 21 can get that irate over a rubbish local football team..especially as he doesn’t even go to the games

It's a good point raised. My thoughts on it are to ask the question on a forum generally. Appreciate what you are saying in response.

 

I heard him talking on some phone in podcast and he sounded like a right plummy tosser.

Has no doubt made some valid points at times but seems to be lost in him coming across as a bit of a bell end

 

Clearly enjoys attention. Never that healthy for one man to be so, so angry. Obviously isn’t a lot going on in his life, ignore him and move on not sure it really warrants any further discussion,

Believe is name is Rupert and you can hear him contributing to the DNSYE discussions on twitter.

He is a bit over the top but his sentiments mirror much is said on this forum

 

The difference being on here you can ignore or admin step in.

On the wider social media it's becoming a bit of a cult. I just thought it was a good topic to discuss on here.

I don’t go on Twitter so have no exposure to him, so the answer seems fairly obvious.

That said, although his views seem fairly extreme, like a few of us on here, his views about the club have been ahead of the curve in terms of seeing the car crash the club has become unfolding ahead of time, so I’m not entirely sure anything needs doing about him?

 

Hang on, if he blocked you why are you going out of your way to seek out his comments just to get annoyed by them? Sounds like he did you a favour if they were getting to you that much.

It's a debate at wider scale than my own opinion. Personally I'm sick of hearing the negativity on every X space from him but I thought opening up debate would be good.

I like him when it comes to his views on Pozzo. Makes good points well without swearing (well until recently). Where he falls down is he feels the need to slate women’s football or where he thinks he sees political correctness “gone mad”. Dunno why he hangs on about that. Can also be repetitive and seems to have a bunker mentality now after all the abuse thrown his way.

Overall there are far more irritating people in the Watford social media space.

 

I was bored of hearing Wendover’s tedious Pozzo propaganda on every platform as well for months on end. You can’t just ban people you disagree with.

 

Just block him. I used to follow him because I hate Pozzo and he really gets stuck into him, however I've recently unfollowed Ron because he's started to target the wrong people for criticism.

I've never blocked anyone on twitter. Seems a bit of an admission of failure to me and shelters you from dissenting views
