Followed my local non league side to south London yesterday. £12 to get in, 55 away fans all on a first name basis, hit the post 3 times but unfortunately lost 0-3 after chasing the game. All the players, subs and coaches came over and shook hands with every fan at the end. Loved every second of it
To be fair, Watford tried that approach a few seasons back. It ended up backfiring when Holebas offered a fan for a punch up after we lost 1-0 at Southampton.
I would simply line all the outfield players up today and pick the team by size. All the biggest lumps out there, intimidate the opposition, two banks of four, score from a set piece. The Burnley way.
Certainly at Burnley we had a few moments ( certainly more than in the home games we’ve had under Roy ) . West Ham seemed to be a back to the walls job but looking comfortable till the last deflected goal .
Can’t say I’m looking forward to this one . Feels like more of a chore to go. Particularly with Sarr out I’m hoping for a narrow defeat at best .
******* hell how fickle and toxic can people get just because we’re threatened with relegation from the premier league
Happy with that lineup. Could have maybe played Pepe instead of Martinelli but it should be enough for an easy win.
I am glad Cucho is starting today. He is one of our few players who can get forward for an attack. I just hope we don't sit behind the ball for 85mins and try to score on a lucky breakaway. That's exactly what is going to happen.
Pedro and Cucho could be quite interesting. Sema and Kucka are bound to come on at some point. Let's hope they shore up the defensive if we are leading.
Guess Sierralta really is 5h choice and only a sub as WTE is injured? Reckon Kalu will only get on if we are losing late on.
Don't mind that. King won't be a major miss on recent form. Also, Sierralta lives! Good to see Etebo back in the squad as well. If we can get him starting soon instead of Cleverley it should give us a minor lift. No attackers on the bench - maybe we should have signed one in Jan?!
This is the moment where previously underused players get their chance, pick up the mantle and run with it, supercharging us up the table as we just DON'T. STOP. WINNING.
Roy Hodgzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzon's Watford. Another Home performance masterclass aimed at getting the fans onboard and building a positive atmosphere. Painful overtly defensive day before conceding and then capitulation. God I hope I'm wrong. Lectiones docti et iterum imus => Lessons have been learned and we go again
How many of the goals we concede are cutbacks from wide to the gap between the CBs and midfield? Seems like a very high percentage of them.
Terrible error, has looked a yard off the pace for a couple of months. Separate note, should you rethink this 'Uncle Tom' nickname? Unless there's another meaning I'm not aware of?
