  1. Astonishing number of people left before the equaliser. I don't get it. If we're 2 or 3 down going into ET, fair enough, but...

I have a 60 mile drive and after the mass subs, which turned the match in Millwalls favour, I honestly didn't envision us equalising.

There have always been early-leavers but the I do wonder about people who spend a small fortune on watching their team but leave before the end, especially now when there can be six or seven minutes of added time.

The two classics in recent memory are the TV news clip of the smug-looking Man City fan who was beating the traffic safe in the knowledge that they'd beaten Tottenham in the Champions League quarter-final only to find out that he'd left before VAR ruled out Aguero's goal and Spurs had, in fact, gone through on away goals.

More recently, the overhead shot of fans streaming out of the Emirates having left when Arsenal were 1-1 with Man United. They'd missed two injury time Arsenal goals.

I once went to the FA Trophy final with family friends who supported Wycombe Wanderers, back in their non-league days. Wycombe were 3-1 up in the final few minutes and the Wycombe fans in our group decided to leave to beat the queues for the train. My Dad and I stayed and saw Wycombe's fourth goal. I just couldn't get my head around going to Wembley and leaving before seeing your team lift the trophy.

I've never understood that either. The same thing happened at our last FA cup final appearance. We left not long after the 6th goal went in, so you still had a good 3 or 4 minutes plus stoppage time and in the queue for the trains outside there where just as many Man city fans as Watford fans. I know the game was anything but competitive but still, why pay all that money and travel that far not to see the trophy lifted. Might as well have stayed at home and watched it on the telly.

As an aside, I went to the same FA trophy final, against Runcorn if I recall. Wycombe had a young Steve Guppy playing for them and a certain Martin O'Neil was the manager!

Should have won the game and for it's VI's fault we didn't with the triple substitution on the hour. Kone and Asprilla were playing well and it took the momentum way from us for around 15 minutes. It seems to be something he plans to do but for me subs should be used to change things, replace players not playing well etc. Very strange.
That said, it's been an excellent week and with two winnable games to come we should hopefully be in a comfortable position come the next International break.

What would they have done if the final had gone to extra time?!

The Runcorn final was great. Had a streaker and everything.

If we scored six goals in the last minutes of that game, I would expect the Watford fans' to demand taxi drivers do a U turn back to the stadium :p

What's actually the point in going, I too had a 60 mile journey after, wouldn't dream of leaving so early

I could accept that if Sema, Martins, Andrews and Ngakia had the same problem, and if you are right it just shows that the money being spent on `our highest earner` would be better used on the recruitment of a prolific marksman with great positional sense.

I think that was provably as good we have been all season. I can't remember too many games when we were so dominant as we were in the first half. Unfortunately we can't defend set pieces. Never would have thought at the start of the season that would have been our starting midfield and probably my preferred midfield. I was starting to get extremely concerned going into the international break and 7 points from 3 games has took the pressure off and the players looked more confident in Saturday.

I don't know if it is much of a barometer about whether or not we have improved but if I reflect back on how bad last season was the 2 fixtures that first come to mind are the games against Milwall and Swansea when we got battered.

Not much to add to what others have said but my points are:

    1. That was the best we've played this season since the opening day.
    2. Our best midfield pairing is Kone and Kayembe.
    3. Bayo played his best that I've seen.
    4. The triple sub on 60 killed our momentum.
    5. Rajovic is really not up to this league, having said that if we're needing a goal in the dying minutes then sub him on and get a decent cross in.
    6. Ken played well on the left.
    7. They must learn to defend corners.

He’s not going to score anyway. And that’s his job. A fair bit of admirable huff and puff but he’s crap ultimately.

Do you know how many times I have asked myself that over the last couple of seasons.
