Brentford are on the up, as we were 3 years ago. We had a solid 7 year upward curve. So it’s easy when everything is rosy to feel a little superior. But Brentford’s fall will come. Possibly next season, as the second season is often tougher than the first. This time next year we could be passing you as you go down and we come back up. So never believe in your own hype, because it has a habit of crashing all around you.

Suggestion albeit from Brentford fans that it might have been offside anyway in the build up but then Sarr looked like he was for the goal and VAR over ruled the officials there so...

To be fair, I thought there was a suspicion of offside when the ball reached our 2 players on the edge of the 6-yard box before it broke to King. Not an easy one for the (not very good) lino to see, but may well have been ruled out by VAR.
Not sure what would've been the harder to take...a 'winner' being ruled out or what actually happened.

Surely you don't mean our center forward who has played in 29 PL games and only scored in 3 made a bad miss. We should be applauding the fact he managed a shot that was almost on target.

Not very far off. Never watched it had better things to do than watch this shower and in the end what a surprise. Miss a simple chance and then concede YET AGAIN deep into injury time.

If this side are to come back up there need to be major changes ON and OFF the pitch. That means Duxbury effing off and someone who knows their stuff and uses intelligence to get the right players in. On means shipping out half the squad. Over the hill, mental midgets and simply not good enough.

    Going forward,

    GK Okoye , Bachmann
    DF Samir, Kamara, Sierralta, Kabasele
    MF Etebo, Kayembe, Louza, Asprilla
    FW Pedro, Hernandez

The rest such as the dross that is Sema can leave immediately. There are plenty of talented kids out there with the right frame of mind if the DOF actually knew how to do his job instead of issuing platitudes and telling us lessons have been learnt when they patently have not been.

I don't think anyone under contract will be going unless we get a good fee for them which means the likes of Sema and Cleverley will be here to stay...

Wouldn't be surprised if a few are shipped off to Udinese (Samir, Kamara)

I presume we won't be keeping Etebo as he has been fit but not played at all in recent weeks.

Please point out where I've been a hypocrite tah.

As for "imbecile" I'm not surprised you may wish to think that, but I can't recall ever doing anything as imbecilic on here as HB1 has spent the last few weeks parading around with.

This is a wonderful post, I agree with every word. In an ideal world I would like Gino to sell up as well because I believe the fabric, tempo, culture, call it what you like, starts at the very top. Hats off to Skyla too for an insightful forecast:)

He was inexperienced and needed a senior Manager with Premier League pedigree to help - much in the `Bertie Mee role`. The problem with our Management is they have no strategic plan, and spend their time fire fighting problems that repeat over again. With mercenary players who find it difficult to talk to each other, and tactics that change three times a season is it any wonder we wallow against football TEAMS?

Of course. But having watched us be rubbish in L1 and 2 for most of my time as a fan I don’t really mind that much if we go down as long as they’re still giving it a go. Even being an established Championship club over seven seasons was six seasons more than we’d had since the early 50s. I’d prefer not to end up back in L1 but it wouldn’t be the end of the world. At least it’s unlikely anyone would be trying to get us to do a permanent groundshare at Woking.

There’s just no need for this abuse. Don’t agree with me, that’s fine, but I’m not nasty, hypocrite or an imbecile. I never abuse anyone on here. I just post honest observation when I see fit. Happy Easter.

Delete Bachmann, Samir and Kayembe from that list and I'm with you. Haven't seen Okoye or Asprilla, but I'll give yhem the benefit of the doubt.

@aBee Just wanted to let you know all your posts have been very insightful and balanced, an it's a nice read of opposition fans. Thank you for not being OTT despite doing the "double" over us this season. You are most welcome on WFC Forums anytime. :)

Christ, when I was a student at Manchester Uni I was coming out of the library one weekday evening and there was one guy already throwing up on the pavement at 21:30 - I thought that was bad enough!

Those players maybe all we have left after June. If so, it looks very, very grim.
Do you think they will make waves in the Championship?

I never said they were the same level. Foster was a similar level to Cleverley as you described him before he started his YouTube channel and has since dropped his stock substantially with his consistent gurning and lack of care / focus on the pitch whilst Gomes was a level above them both anyway. If Foster had left after 2019 relegation he would have been remembered in the same vein as Cleverley. 2005 thru 2007 and 2018/19 were outstanding Seasons for Foster but since 2019 he has had 2 mediocre, increasingly disrespectful Seasons compounded by the aforementioned issues. He will be welcomed back in the future but it won't be the same as it was before his return purely due to his own actions.

Neither will be considered legends but respected players generally who did a job for a period but maybe went on too long .

Gomes is for his performance and personality in a good and successful side .

Least everyone probably knew who he was unlike poor Kevin Miller (not a bad keeper himself )!

The ref went for a yellow card when Kamara gave away the FK that lead to the Brentford winner, then styled it out as he realised he’d have to send him off as it was a second yellow. Kamara got away with one there.

Truth is, every season there's 5 teams that start the season badly, struggle for wins. After things settle teams improve but there's always 2 teams at the bottom that keep struggling but keep talking about improvement and big efforts. Then by January those teams are still struggling and truth is at that point the confidence is shot no matter what big talk they make.
Our problems needed sorting when Ranieri came in but he lost the plot and thing stayed bad.
A struggling team with 3 managers in a season will never survive.....
Our boys will talk things up during the week but their confidence and natural skills are shot to pieces no matter what they do.... (they still annoy me tho).

I sat in the Upper GT as I fancied a quiet afternoon, slightly spoilt by the smell of urine every couple of minutes (assume there were problems with the bogs in corporate) which matched the yellow streaks of piss on the pitch.

And Brentford fans in full Danish shirts sat front row.

That's no problem mate. I'd have him as the number two. And I would bring Angelini on as soon as possible assuming he is doing reasonably in the Academy u23s. We have to keep the rest of that core together. If we do and it's a big if we make the right decisions in the transfer market we can probably bounce back.

Samir and Kayembe ought to be more than good enough for the Chumpionship. But the idiots in charge need to be looking at young central defenders right now. It's not rocket science. So are many other clubs but with a bit of hard work, research and making the right overtures we ought to be able to lure some here. Trouble is as with the Calvin Ramsay hoo-ha by creating a stink we create bad relations and situations. Gino is a chump in this regard along with plenty of other matters.
