Is it not a contributing factor that both Brentford and Brighton have considerably deeper pockets than us though.
Found out after 1 game for us. Opponents just forced him into his non existent foot and he's out of the game. Another Pozzo gem
Maybe. But then maybe we'd have deeper pockets if we didn't spend millions on agent fees, paying off managers every few months and giving terrible players long contracts.
Yes there is that too but I think the wealth of the other two owner makes the Pozzo’s look poor in comparison anyway.
It is true that Pozzo is probably 2nd lowest amongst owners in current EPL with regards to net worth and so, obviously, this severely handicaps us. But this makes it all the more essential that the funds we do have are managed in a sensible manner and that this is coupled with a creative approach to making up for the financial imbalance. Neither has been the case for the last 3 seasons & this is why many people consider Pozzo liable to criticism. I've a sneaky suspicion the financial risk-taking may even have started earlier than the Cup Final season, when it started to become evident that the 'scouting network' USP had been caught up with by other clubs and the conveyor belt was no longer delivering the required quality at a sufficiently low cost.
Which makes the deals and money we give to Mogi Bayat all the more ridiculous. We should be looking at a range of ways to find and attract talented players, rather than just throwing cash at someone with a dubious legal history, who provides players that don't meet the standard needed for the premier league.
