I tend to find it's the building societies that offer the best chance of a decent viennoiserie, anyway.
Honestly blows my mind that I am ever saying this, but I'm pleased to see Sema back from injury and available for selection - he's broadly a comedy donkey but he also does whatever is asked of him (at this level), every time, even though he's not directly impactful anywhere near as much. That alone sets him apart amongst this squad, which is shameful, but a realpolitik-type fact.
Also wouldn't be surprised to see that become the starting CB pairing from this moment until the end of the season, to be honest. Except for the fact that it would mean they both miraculously avoided the malevolent jabs of our traitorous medical team for an entire third of a season each, of course.
OK now you can appreciate just how bad the injury crisis was. Of course, a lot of these players will be injured again before Tuesday.
In a move that forces me to now commit hari-kiri to remain consistent with my own code of ethics, you'd surely have to replace Martins with Sema as it stands, at this level, at this moment in time, too. Louza as a change is rather an impactful one, too, to be fair, hah.
Hopefully those on the bench are fully fit and not rushed back . Pedro captain probably does show the lack of options elsewhere .
In the Championship he’s better than you’re giving him credit for in my opinion. But I agree I’m happy to see him back and doubt there can be much negativity from anyone looking at that squad! Fingers crossed none of those returning get injured! Could be the day our promotion push takes off!
Would say that’s 9 out of our best 11 starting. Only missing Ferreira and Louza from that line up from being our best 11.
How well we do may also depend on what Blackburn team turn up. Either we get decked and played off the park or they wither and give up like they have done in almost half of their games. Simple fact of the matter is, they are still playoff contenders as it stands because they almost always follow up a bad performance with a good one. Athough drawing their last two was a surprise.
No hiding place today. A great looking squad on paper - so another game with seemingly no game plan or patterns of play, and a few more should be questioning Bilic. So let’s hope those saying he couldn’t do anything better given the injuries are proved correct - I hope they are! I’m expecting something far better than what we have seen in the last couple of months.
I agree we should see SOME idea of what they can do together, but with 4 of them having played less than 5or 6 games for us and several back first game from injury, I’m not expecting a full flowing style just yet. Just pleased to have that level of team and bench and confident it’ll start coming together now. Could be wrong of course!
To a point I agree - and there’s certainly a truth to players not being able to come back be expected to just be at their best immediately. But we have little time to build up match fitness - and I also think the idea of ‘match fitness’ is a bit of a relic. It’s holds truth of course but it’s more an antiquated thing from when players were a bit less careless about their fitness. Nowadays they are athletes whose every macro is counted etc.
I hate the fact this line up gives me hope, and now I’ll waste a tenner paying for the privilege of having my hope systematically destroyed, bottled tackle by bottled tackle, and misplaced pass after misplaced pass.
Skyla is always punctual with the Shoutbox, she's like a sister, that never, never says no! Skyla stretches out her hand to any Hornet brother! her smile is like the breeze in the morning when the sun shines! We applaud her enthusiastically, with joy and warmth! Skyla as Hornetta is an example and an honour! If it weren't for Skyla we'd be left with nowhere to boo these miserable yellow frauds!
A great looking squad given the players at the club. I think our squad is weak. You know that there will be many requests for a complete clear out this coming summer, again. A stroll for Blackburn this afternoon.
So, a lacklustre draw at home to a team below us, with 2/3rds of the game played abysmally with no clear idea of what to do, how, or why. Not good enough at this point in the season; not by a long shot. Disappointing once again.
Doesn’t really matter what players are on the pitch, it’s the same old clueless rubbish served up. At least we didn’t give a win to a rival for a playoff off spot.
Not a great result but some positive signs in the performance. Good to have the injured players back, and should hopefully kick some of the more comfortable players up the arse. Not sure what more has to happen for Sarr to be dropped. Sema showed what showing a bit of desire can bring to a side. Cleverley did some good things and was nice to see him getting in the refs ear. Still think we'll be mid table after this horrible run of fixtures, but if we keep players fit, I feel a little more confident that we'll be able to stay in touch. Britt looked awful. May as well have recalled Fletch, surely.
First 45 utter gash, second 45 a bit more promising, maybe if the game goes on 10 more minutes we win it. Midfield still has no real idea how to function, Sarr & Martins aren’t providing a constant threat and our two strikers are so drastically different in style we can’t seem to form a tactical identity, which this late in a season is a bit concerning.
