Martins end product & decision making is still very shaky but he at least generates football, Davis is just annoying me, thought he was awful at Reading and when he’s not on it he’s just a lump we carry. However, Pedro starts in the #10, Sarr & Martins either side, Araujo up front.
Thank god we made those cosmetic signings at centre back. Losing Cathcart for the next few games would be a bit of a blow, especially as Kabasele will end up in the team by the end of the month when Hoedt does his hamstring.
I was surprised Davis was deployed in such a deep role at Reading. I thought he looked lost there. His main asset is receiving the ball to initiate attacks, although he sometimes holds onto the ball too long. I expected Araujo to play behind or off him, particularly without Pedro on the pitch. I wonder if Araujo can play the lone central striker back to goal role or if it would detract from his likelihood of scoring goals, which is what we need from him?
