Thought it might be interesting to canvas the forum opinion on their possible existence or not .

I totally believe they exist and always have done. Probably helps that I work in the Space industry so most of my time is spent calculating star maps etc. There is a lot of hoax surrounding them, and of course Area 51 on whether it really is a laboratory for Alien technology research, but I do think some people who are ITK "know" at lot more than they let on. What I cannot bring myself to believe, is that they look human-like. Now, that is purely speculation of course and it's logical for us, as a species, to identify with another species and believe we all look alike in some context. I think they are a totally different strand of what we are, and they may or may not be technological advanced. Movies like Independence Day and the like push the Hollywood fantasy of it all, and that is fine too. X-Files was one of my fave shows (I actually met Gillian Anderson at an event once) and although most are suspect of their existence, I think somewhere out there in the cosmos, they are around.

Highly unlikely that there is any contact with us though.

Imagine a race several million years ahead of us technology wise. Would we be able to detect them?
It would be like cavemen detecting our current best tech, not going to happen.

So yes, we might well be visited regularly by other races but not a chance in h*ll that we'd see them using our current technology. To even think we have recorded them is laughable.

I definitely believe that there is life beyond this planet. The numbers make it almost impossible that life hasn't developed somewhere on the billions of planets that must exist in the universe.

What I can't understand is, if there is an advanced life form that has managed to travel the vast distances of space, probably defying the law of relativity and exceeded the speed of light, why would they keep their existence secret from us?

And, as with just about any major conspiracy, how have all the governments of the world kept it secret from us, despite the various different administrations that have been in power over the decades?

I've no doubt people regular see things that they can't explain but I think it's far more likely that it's something that originates from Earth, either natural or man made, than alien visitations.

I genuinely hope I am wrong though.

When I lived in the USA the National Enquirer was the go to source on these matters.

I lost track of the number of front page headline stories of people abducted from their isolated rural dwelling and whisked up to a UFO Time Machine to be studied, and yes, in some cases molested by these alien beings who regularly visit us.
And then deposited back where they came from - and all before they woke up.

    So they definitely exist.

    Wish they did but no.
Statistically there must be millions if not billions of planets with life in the universe but distances prohibit visits. If a race developed a wormhole style technology maybe they could appear and disappear at will but then they would not go whizzing around and probing stray farmers

First of all we are obviously the only evidence of intelligent life, however many points need to be addressed as to whether it exist elsewhere in the universe.

    1. The age of the universe is accepted to be about 13.7 billion years old, the first generation of stars could not have contained any other elements than hydrogen, helium and a very small amount of lithium as these were the only elements created in the first 3 minutes after the big bang. Dying stars are capable of creating some elements up to iron and supernovae can fuse elements heavier than iron however the larger the star the higher chance of it becoming a black hole. Therefore only second or third generation stars are going to have rocky planets, made of metals and silicates. With that in mind it's unlikely stars older than 8 billion years could have life supporting planets.
    2. It has been proven that simple life on earth has been around since relatively near the beginning 4.4 billion years ago, however it took over 3.5 billion years for multicellular life to appear and a further 540 million years for us to appear. What is unknown is whether:
      1. 4 billion years from the first occurrence of life to intelligent life was slower than "normal" (in this universe's terms).
      2. Faster than normal.
    3. Assuming the timescale for us to appear is average, then we need to consider whether intelligent life is inevitable. For example, here mammals were small and a minor group from over 200 million years during the age of the dinosaurs until the asteroid wiped them out and ultimately killed every non-marine animal larger than about 20cm. Had the asteroid not hit, would mammals have taken over from the dinosaurs? But on the other hand, what if the asteroid hit 100 million years earlier or the dinosaurs never got a foothold and died out before then?
    4. The time since life started on earth to the lucky events that led us to be here now, I would suggest that spacefaring (or even radio communicating) civilisations across the whole universe is reasonably likely as there must be billions of planets like ours but simply due to the age of the universe we may actually be one of the first; or if not the earliest are too far away to detect yet, i.e. a civilisation could have been around for 1 billion years but are more than 1 billion light years away. Meaning there hasn't been enough time. He we lived 10 billion years in the future the cosmos could be awash with artificial signals.

For anyone who is interested in a sober , fact based summary of the most recent sightings by US pilots and Navy radar operators, this is helpful.

    https://www.uap.guide/quotes/introduction

Also on Tuesday 25th there is an open congressional hearing for two of these pilots to testify to the public and also an intelligence officer who has turned whistleblower.

The hearing was initiated by majority leader of the US senate Chuck Schumer . There are a growing number of senior US politicians who are taking this very seriously .

To be fair that isn't an error in typing. Technically the forum script allows a captial letter followed by an lowercase letter following it. Making it almost impossible to make a theead title with all capital letters without manipulating it in some way. It was designed to remove "shouting" as thread titles.

Apologies Carpster, absolutely not my intention to belittle others thoughts on this thread, it was an unwise choice of words.

Yes, the objects seen on camera are certainly unidentifiable, and I don't have an explanation at all, but if it is life that is far in advance of us then surely thaeycan only be captured on film if that was their intention. But then if it was, why such fleeting glimpses?

I think to try and second guess the intentions or nature of these craft/beings is difficult and perilous because as you (I think ) stated earlier trying to understand them is like asking a chimp to understand quantum mechanics .

What we must do is just follow the facts as they present to us with an open and curious but rational mind.

The facts being that these craft are 100% there as they have been cross corroborated by multiple measuring devices (radar , infrared, video , human eye of highly trained aircrew) all confirming with a high degree of correlation that they have witnessed and measured the same phenomena.

These craft have been behaving in a manner that is way, way, way beyond any technology that any nation has . ( ie dropping from edge of space to sea level in under a second , reversing direction of travel instantaneously despite travelling at Mach 10+ , I could list many more but want to keep this brief )

We can’t even theorise how they are moving because the craft give off no heat signal or sonic boom - the technology is hundreds of years possibly thousands ahead of where human understanding of aeronautics is currently at .

Like I have stated earlier there a number of high profile US politicians behind this now , who would not risk their reputation if they did not believe there is lot of evidence . In fact Senators Bruchette and Luna have both stated they have spoken with a number of high level intelligence personnel who have said to them off the record that these craft do exist and the US government has proof .

I can't answer that. But I can say that one of the pilots said it was almost waiting for it to catch-up. Not saying they're being flown by aliens but they're definitely UAP'S.
Anyway as @BigRossLittleRoss said the said pilots will be speaking about these craft next week.
