Ticket App

Doesn’t affect me but how does dad and his two little sons get through the turnstiles when he has all three of them on his one phone! Does he present all three digital passes to the reader and then go through., or is it one at a time with him obviously going last!

 

Really annoying.

Bought my ticket for Saturday. Got the email. Downloaded the app.

Told to contact administrator because it's not possible.

Call up and automated voice tells me to try again later.

I have a sneaking feeling that we are expected to download the season ticket for each and every game...which means if you have kids tickets on the adults phone as most do, then that has to be done for each and every one of them as well.

This shambles is starting to eat away at my COG Happy Clapper dom.

 

No matter how successful this club may get in future (lol), the ticket office will always be an absolute shiitshow.

This farce is almost up there with the time years ago they nearly sent my season ticket to North Dakota because they had my postcode starting ND instead of WD. They genuinely couldn't work out that it was a typo.

 

I always thought this was a mad idea to try and force the use of NFC on phones for the tickets.

So currently NFC is used by less than 1/4 of smartphone users. Factor in the children and older people who do not have a smartphone and this probably means at best 1 in 6 people attending games have previously used NFC on a phone.

As I said a mad idea from WFC to try and force everyone to use it.

 

I had never heard of NFC before this summer.

 

Yeah, they're awful - just show someone tapping a screen with almost no context and no instruction on what to do with kids, different accounts etc.

 

In fairness, it seems to be a football wide drive to force this through. Watford are far from the only club introducing it this season.

It is a mad idea for any football club to force this upon supporters.

Making it difficult for long standing and young supporters to attend games is madness.

 

Yeah but it’s making it harder after they’ve paid so I can see the attraction.

 

It’s a train wreck. Bring back Ron Rollitt. He’d sort it out. By himself.

 

I went to the ground yesterday afternoon to try out my season ticket on the phone (Android) at the turnstiles and thought I’d share my experience.

First turnstile: held phone against reader, vibrated but didn’t work. Was told to open QR code and try putting phone into the slot - didn’t work.
Second turnstile: same result, didn’t work.

Was then taken to the end turnstile where it did work (on both NFC and using the QR code). The guy then said something along the lines of “not all the turnstiles are accepting Android phones at the moment but it will all be ok by Saturday”.

Think I’ll get there early on Saturday.

 

Daft question alert:

I have my season ticket in my Google Pay wallet. Is that it, or do I now need to download the Villa ticket listed (along with my Brighton ticket) on the WFC ticket website as well? Whenever I click on it the 'Download NFC mobile' link is still greyed out.

Thanks, from a reasonably intelligent person who doesn't think the club's various help pages are very clear, but that might just be me!

 

It was easier when you could just turn up an pay cash to the turnstile geezer.
I’m the only one of my mates who has managed to download to my wallet. They are too old and haven’t got smart phones.
It’s going to take a few months to get it right but I think this IS progress. Buying 5x Spurs tickets was easy and I’ve got seating in the area I wanted. Now I just need to “distribute” them to mates phones. That could be difficult. I need to get some younger mates.

 

The match was delayed 15 mins and then 30mins with queues around the block. Get there early on Saturday.

 

I didn’t ask that specific question yesterday at the ground, but it was definitely the season ticket in Google Pay that, eventually, opened the turnstile.

 

Think that’s it. Just present your phone to the scan at the turnstiles with the wallet open of course. Don’t forget your nhs Covid pass tho!!

 

Basically that's it. Make sure you've got your Apple Wallet open at the turnstile and you should be good to go.

You don't need to download the Villa (or any other ticket for future games) too.

 

I went down to the ground this morning. It worked first time on my Android phone, the bloke said the key is to hold it there for a few seconds, basically as soon as I held my phone up to the machine my phone vibrated but took and extra second or two for the turnstile to respond.

 

Spurs are issuing paper tickets.

 

I'm conflicted because I want to get there early to make sure I get in, but I don't want to stand around the concourse for hours when I can't imagine it's very COVID safe...

 

I will rock up at 2.45 and take the risk

 

regarding the covid mention above, is there actually any checks being done, or is it just 'please don't come if you have symptoms' ? I only ask because I can't think how that gets managed logistically.

Something I found today: If your fan id begins with a 0, ignore it when creating / resetting the password. So 010345 becomes 10345. That was an unexpected ball ache as had no idea why it wasn't resetting it for mums account until I emailed them about it.
