Didn’t they buy them on site rather than bring them in ?

    Oh well played the BBC!
No iPlayer of Tsitsipas v Djere in the vital tiebreak, second set.
Alcatraz v Jarry anywhere you look.
    Hapless.

They seem to try and please everyone - those who like tennis and those that don’t but end up annoying both !

KB wasn’t going to have much chance against the defending champion really .

    Excellent win for Berrettini.

Really found his form on the grass this week .

She would have to have served many more into the body of Rybakina and to have defended much much better. Numerous occasions Ryb hit into the central third and KB hit into the middle of the net

Admittedly that would not have changed the result but made it less embarrassing.

Ryb has such good technique on serve and groundies if you can't get the first hit away from her or defend well you're toast!

Yes Berrettinni is such a vibrant player and personality AND a Viola fan!

    Disappointing.

Particularly on the Mens side .

The top ladies seem to be getting through fairly easily .

Dimitriv another older player doing well .

Good day for the Russian men so far .

    Fine match.

Great shot to get to 40-15 from Rublev!

Russia as ever playing the numbers game be it warfare or sport.

500 kids on one court at the Moscow Spartak club says it all.

    Wow!

He blew both sets as ND was rattled.

    Huge choke.

I think Azarenka has a point. Too much drinking and ignorance at The Championships. It's not her fault her country is at war any more than those of us who didn't vote Tory can be blamed for Boris.

Yes they might as well just go straight to the tie break !

Definitely agree and Svitolina had already said she wasn’t going to shake hands but doubt the crowd (probably not tennis fans ) knew that.

I don't think ND was rattled. Can't do too much about 135mph rockets going past you. The second set tie break was close and could've gone either way but HH should've really won the first set, it was on his racquet and he netted.

At the start of the tournament i thought a repeat of last year would be nice - Djokovic and Rybakina.
    Could still happen.

    Everyone chokes at some point.
Just a rotten time to do it!

Particularly helpful for Rybakina she basically got a free pass through.

Shame for the crowd they won’t see a full match but injuries happen I guess

Djokovic probably had to work more than he hoped to.

    Congratulations to Rune.

Maybe against expectations beat a more experienced player.

1st male Dane in a Wimbledon quarter final ?

Beaten by the schedule and a serve on the stick would be more apposite!

And a bloke who just tees off.

Rune the form player against GD.

Would have been a surprise if GD had won.

Shame as GD has never really fulfilled his potential.

Did Torben Ulrich not reach the quarters?

Sadly now famous for being the father of Lars (?) from Metallica.

Ah alas poor TU, "emptying his mind" on a practice court!

Djokovic spot on with his comments.
Armstrong and some of the umpires need all the help they can get.
Andreeva can feel aggrieved. Yes the racket came from her hand but she slipped for goodness sake and DON'T issue a penalty point to give Keys match point!

Same as football, most umpires have never played the game so have no empathy.

Jumped up twits like Fergus Murphy and Richard Hughes.

Even Aurelie Tourte was useless in not penalising the constantly swearing Murray. No consistency.

Where have we heard that before?!

She got one rightly given earlier but yes definitely was harsh that one at such a vital moment.

    First was correct.
    Second plain nasty.
If she had won the game have a word at the change over. If she had lost explain at the handshake that you didn't give a penalty point because of the state of the game but warn the player for the future.

Common sense and empathy not rule enforcement.

Too much of it in sport. Read the situation and act accordingly.

Brilliant fight back by Vondrou*ová from 4-1 down in the 3rd.

I suspect Pegula will complain about the roof being closed.

    Very impressive win for Svitolina

She will probably be the crowd and media favourite to win the title now.

    Here they go again!
    The amazing Czech women!
I shall look forward to watching her on Thursday.
Good leftie serve, smacks it and both wings, slices and dices, transitions and volleys well.
Can she keep it going for two more matches?
    Here's hoping.

    Possibly so.
I like her but noticed she stopped shrieking on the forehand side very late v Azarenka.
    She continued on the backhand.
A very shrewd distraction that paid dividends.
She's not without devices as Homer would say.

Sabalenka really upped her game and power when 4/2 down in the 2nd or did Keys lose her nerve ?

Svitolina v Jabeur would certainly be a popular final in the media and with fans .

Probably means neither will get through !

I didn't see it but Saba can hit through concrete so I expect the former.

Good effort by Eubanks but the Russian wins out.

Garcia looked very good again but can he topple Djokovic?
