The Italian club agreed to pay between 8 and 9 million euros (R$ 42 and 47 million) to Fluminense for 90% of the player's economic rights. The deal is stuck by details. I imagine they're wanting him to get a taste of football in Europe before replacing Deulofeu next season at Udinese as there's no way GD will still be there next season if he continues to play how he's done over the past 18 months.
I do fear that this deal might be how Zidane described Makelele leaving Real Madrid, like adding a layer of gold paint to the car when we really need an engine
Bilic has preferred playing Sarr on the left and Sema on the right. Plus it's far from a guarantee that he'll arrive and even be immediately more effective than Sema - it's usually taken our young South Americans a bit of time before they start performing consistently. He'd probably be another option off the bench initially.
Anyone remember when we were making our own signings? Exciting sounding player, but once again, the Pozzo answer is to sign a player who does nothing for the long term good of WFC.
I'm no COG but I'd argue if it helps us get promoted (bit of a long shot now though, but definitely not impossible) then that would be a contribution to the long-term good of WFC. We're getting a highly talented (so highly rated he's been capped for the Brazilian U20 side - a side that JP couldn't get into...) player for a presumably low/free loan fee. Sure it would be nice to have him longer for 5/6 months or so and it's not a position we're in massive need of reinforcements in, but he's an upgrade over Sema and will be a great backup option for both Sarr as well as Davis (whilst he's primarily a winger he has been used up front at times and has a profile a bit different to our backup strikers).
Really couldn't give a **** where the signings are coming from (I didn't complain when all those sexy early Pozzo-era players rocked up here!) as long as they're plugging the holes we need filling. This guy might be absolutely mustard, but I'd rather an absolutely mustard midfielder or full-back!
Good for you. You get what you deserve. A team filled with people who are here for a few months, don't care about Watford and only turn it on when there are scouts watching. You have learned nothing.
That’s right. We should only sign Watford fans with proven season ticket buying history. Players who’s life ambition is to play for our club and will only leave if we say we no longer want them.
Only a few months? Under the Pozzos we have mostly had a core of players who hang around for 3-5 years with smatterings of shorter term signings interspersed. Just like before the Pozzos. And every other football club on Earth. Never heard of this bloke, but get him in.
I’m anti-Pozzo and have been for a while, but nobody will ever convince me that filling our squad with mercurial South American talent isn’t a good thing. Even the worst of our South American imports have provided moments of joy that a typical European clogger just can’t even begin to fathom. Not to mention all the diving, arm throwing and petulance that makes them so much fun to watch. I’ll ride the WFC train into League 1 if we do it with a bunch of mental South Americans driving the train, scoring wonder goals and making inexplicablly violent tackles along the way.
I don’t love Gino much these days either, but yes the Pozzos have given us some good S American players. Not just kids like Pedro and Asprilla. But Cucho was fun while it lasted, and Pereyra was quality (even though he was half arsed most of the time he spent with us). But the dirty little Italian Argentinian scamp with his tattooed neck and Watford shin pads was the best of them all. Fernando was a hell of a player at this level. Did wonders for Sheffield Weds too. Pozzo people trafficking was so easy to forgive in those early days.
This lad looks like he is going places, looks very talented and athletic and confident on the ball. Been linked to plenty of clubs, I think he would be a serious asset in The Championship.
I remember Luther Blisset. He use to drift off the pitch with the ball. He was so enthusiastic that he didn't always notice the white lines. A great player, he never gave up and scored some great goals. A top man..

Romano's tweet is confusing - first paragraph suggests we are buying him. Second paragraph suggests its Udinese and we are just loaning him. Clear as mud.
Nobody plays South America like Pozzo Either it's a Sarr replacement or they've decided that Sema is just not fast enough to make this work.
