Spurs get the bottled it tag then, losing a two goal lead. I hate spurs and their **** fans. That was the funniest game I've seen in ages, Chelsea right up for it, clearly trying to stop spurs winning was the goal, Spurs should have had a number of red cards as they got more and more angry about it.
Massive achievement by Leicester, simply massive. I don't think we will ever see something like this again sadly.
Unbelievable, absolute fairytale Just shows us all that with some fight, grit, determination, performance enhancing drugs and teamwork, even the most written off side can achieve the impossible Hats off to Leicester tonight!
Absolutely magnificent. Leicester will always be an example to those that set their sights too low. A bunch or rejects, non-league and journeymen have thrashed the big boys on ambition, belief and positivity - over a 38 game season. Brilliant!
Their stated aim until January was to get to 40pts and avoid relegation. They just achieved it slightly quicker than us.
I dont believe it for a minute. If it was, then they would have stopped playing when they reached it, like we did. Seriously, I have said this before, my friend has an office in the King Power Stadium and their target was privately was a Europa Cup spot.
How do you even celebrate a stunning upset of this magnitude? I'd suggest a massive bender, but given that's what people in this country do simply because it's Friday, it seems a touch low key.
In fairness I'm happy for the genuine Leicester fans. And a bit sad as well as a lot of them will be drowned out now by a bunch of prats, hangers on and tourists who will attach themselves to their club. It won't matter a jot tonight of course but in time it will fook them right off. Based on what I've read it has already started - a lot of their long time fans being shut out with tickets selling out to noobs who don't even know what shape a football is.
Absolutely delighted for Lesta and their ragtag bunch of nobodies. Let's hope that the Premier League has changed forever.
Fairplay to SSN who just showed this in all its glory as part of the Leicester story. Will no doubt be oft repeated in the next 24 hours :]]
Even when they were top at Christmas I did not give them a chance, when they beat man city away I thought they may have a sniff then when they lost to Arsenal in the manner they did I wrote them off again, great achievment and congratulations also have the most likeable decent manager, a lot of the credit has to go to Pearson as well.
It's great that the big 4 monopoly has been gate crashed, but I'm just sorry it was not us that did it rather than them :frown: Never mind there is always next season! Onwards and Upwards!
As ZZ stated in in the QSF thread recently, at Christmas when it looked like we would be safe it appeared that we never adjusted our aims; Leicester obviously did and look where it got them. I'm not saying we would have been up there with them but an adjustment of aims could have meant we would have been 8-10 points or so better off and knocking on the door of Europa League qualification.
I'll be absolutely honest and say I'm not sure Europa League qualification would be particularly beneficial to us right now. Fun for the fans? Absolutely. Financially beneficial? Hardly. Likely to hinder efforts to stay up in our second season? Almost certainly. I actually think a period of mid-table nothingness isn't a bad outcome for now while we aim to build.
Is that what they teach at UEA these days, aim for a "period of mid table nothingness"? Jeeeeeez! Players leaving, players joining, injuries, etc , and every other club trying to finish above us. You cannot 'consolidate' in football, there are just too many factors outside your control. Aim, for a top six spot, and if you get it, great as your second 11 will get extra chances to play, and if you don't manage to get a top six, we may end up in a mid table nothingness position. So what?
MOTD last night "and here's a video of Gary and friends and family enjoying the moment".... "so let's now go over to Gary Lineker and see what he thinks".... "oh and now you're going to have to record MOTD next season in your underwear". Does anyone outside of the BBC love-in care what Gary Lineker thinks? With any luck he'll be replaced by MOTD before next season. Other than that, well done Leicester!
Some of these pundits should be out of a job: All pundits after watching ' I believe in miracles ' : ' A small club winning the league after being recently promoted ( without a billionaire owner) will never be done again.' Last night on 5 live and Talksport: ' What Leicester have achieved this season will never be done again. All the big clubs have under performed this season.' Huh???????? Surely what Leicester have done should make a surprise like this more likely to happen again as it gives belief to every also ran club in the league. Chris Sutton entire second half of the season ' Im telling you Leicester will feel the pressure at some point and will fall away' Paul Merson after Leicester got to 40 points ' There's no way Leicester will get top 4. Look at their last 3 games.' Stan Collymore after a Leicester fan dared to say they would finish 3rd about halfway through the season: ' ITS IMPOSSIBLE' Im not asking for pundits to predict the future with 100% accuracy but they've all been left looking a confused and stupid bunch this season. All they can come out with now is that its been a freak season and the big boys will all be stronger next season ( which they probably will but no such guarantee yet) Man Utd were supposed to be stronger this season yet look likely to finish 5th where they finished 4th last season. Liverppol were supposed to be stronger with Klopp yet will finish 7th or 8th yet under Rodgers last season finished 6th.
