To say I've been pleasantly surprised by his performances is an understatement. His experience and reading there is a big part of why we've stopped conceding so many silly chances in games now. It also shows that Sierralta is simply not suitable as a mainstay CDM. He can do it in a pinch but is not suitable as a longer term role and we must recruit there come January because otherwise we will regret it. Think VI has been just as surprised given how long he kept trying Sierralta there. For a free transfer, we could be doing a hell of a lot worse.
A bit like Kucka, an experienced former England international with bags of top level experience, even at his age is always likely to be an asset to a squad in the Championship, the only issue is that we look like we'll be relying on him too much for a man of his age
Done brilliantly the last two games, his character on the pitch stands out. A proper leader, so sorely missed in our team for years now. Wouldn’t want to rely on him every week though, a nailed on starter for that position in January is an absolute priority.
Depending on what funds we have available, a “nailed on starter” at champ level may not be possible but let’s see.
Thought he was excellent at Cardiff as well. 7 points from last 3 games and he's played in all of them. Let's hope he's fit to play tomorrow.
I don't think anyone on here has even thought of this yet, but there is a possibility Livermore may not be able to play 3 games in a week. I think this should be discussed!
Without having seen the stats for distance covered and action zones it looks to me like he’s being told to stay more in his position than Sierralta, probably to conserve some energy. At 33 I don’t see a reason why he can’t play 35-40 games in a season in that role.
I always thought he was a waste of a shirt in whatever team he played for as he barely seemed to move. Maybe he’s just always standing in the right place? Would be interesting to see what distance he’s covered in the game he’s played.
Nice little interview with him. Seems a decent chap. Has certainly exceeded my expectations so far, the team looks a lot more solid with him and Kayembe in it. He's not a flashy, or a marquee signing by any means, or one that we can get excited to see develop over the next few years etc. but it's leaders and players like him that you need in a squad, and are just as important as so called 'match winners'.

Yes, Jake has been immense since his introduction to the side. I think we’ve only lost 3 with him playing and when he goes off there is always a drop in performance. Like Hamer said “it all went pear-shaped when Jake went off”. He’s probably the most vital player on the team sheet, so PotS is a certainty for me from what he’s done so far.
Humble pie doesn't half taste good. He has made us a much better team. Actually, to go one further he has made us a team.

Willing to put my hands up and admit I was totally wrong about Livermore; didn’t think he’d add anything on the pitch but I was wrong. He’s playing like he’s got a point to prove and his game management is excellent - always talking to those around him and giving instructions - this was particularly prevalent against Chesterfield. Doing excellently at the moment and well worth a new deal with a coaching gig at the end of it.
Should remember that Bilic wanted him last January when we still had a chance of going up. He specifically identified experienced Championship heads as the players he needed if we wanted to challenge for promotion and was pilloried by the football hipsters who'd drunk the Manga kool aid.
I also have to hold my hands up and admit that Jake Livermore has absolutely made me look a fool in doubting him. It’s actually a shame he’s 34, as he is exactly the sort of leader we need for stability in a long-term rebuild. Future coach/assistant to Val methinks.
